I honestly had high hopes for this spot, but the experience was a complete letdown. We waited over 2 whole hours for Abacha!!!!!! Only to be served something completely subpar. What made it worse was the manager’s nonchalant attitude, not even a simple apology for the delay. For a place that advertises authentic taste, this was very far from it. Definitely not returning, and I would NOT recommend!! If I could rate it less than 1 star I would.
The Isiewu and catfish come highly recommended! I visited on a Tuesday evening, so the place wasn’t crowded. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, and the service was great. Just a heads-up - if you’re sensitive to cold, you might want to bring a sweater, as the restaurant tends to be a bit chilly.
Loving the revamp. The food was great and the service was immaculate. Ambiance was not up to par for a proper Houston vibe as there was no dj but I’m sure that’s an easy fix. The Nkwobi make sense. Be prepared to eat it with your hands.
Shout out to Amara and Muna for hosting my beautiful friend’s birthday at 042! Absolutely love the premise, the location, the service and the food! Also Anthony the bartender was kind and kept the drinks flowing! Suya wings were immaculate. Paired with the yam fries and spicy sauce? Please if you have even small sense, come and patronize this business representing the 042💛✨
THEY BLOCKED ME WHEN I SPOKE ABOUT THE BAD EXPERIENCE I will never do such a thing again 3/10… I’m in Katy so I’m driving down 30mins I got there before 4 so I shopped at other stores at 4:01 I walked in the guy came to greet me asked if it was dine-in or take away , I said take away he said ok go sit I’ll bring the menu ok… he brought the menu by 4:03 I’ve told him whatt I wanted which was abacha ( the main reason I even came ) and suya he said ok he’ll go tell them to start preparing and then he came back to say that they brought out the meat late so it’s not done marinating that I can wait but it will add to the wait time I said okay just bring the abacha ..( I wanted to go and try another restaurant since I was already in the area ) he said it would take 15-20 minutes and that it came in a styrofoam and it was plenty ( I asked how big it was bc it was $30 , $36.98 with tax) I said okay he left and was doing his own thing … the music is on volume 100 I could hear it in my brain gba gba gba but the songs were nice okay …. 4:35 the food is not out 🤔 he said he’ll go check came back it’s almost ready ?!?? Almost ready ?!? I said okay he came and offered me a drink bc I’m waiting I accepted and took a Pepsi MINDDDD U I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN HERE!!!! I’m waiting I’m waiting two ppl have come in to clock in for their shift I’m waiting waiting at some point I asked the lady what’s going on I’ve been waiting an hour she said an hour I said yess she said let me check she went in …. Came back out it’s almost ready 😐 …are we joking ?!?!? If I wanted to wait this long would I not cook at home ? Ok the man and woman didn’t come out again so I started knocking on the “restricted door” where they keep disappearing to bc I’m the only one here and I want to goooooooo I knock knock knock nobody answered but the door is open I opened it started shouting hello hello nobody came 🙆🏾♀️stupid music self I decided let me turn it off looked for the computer to press pause then they came out and I said can I get a refund I want to go home she told me to wait it’s coming …eh? And then she went back in and im now parading the music is so loud I’m annoyed, hungry , my phone is dead everything sha after like two minutes the time is now 5:03 she came out saying so sorry so sorry 😐 let me get u a drink and then the drink is sparkling water 😒🤣 that one hour that I waited did the suya not get ready then ? Could u not have brought suya too? And then I got home and I tasted the abacha that I WAITED 1 whole hour for and it doesn’t even taste like correct Nigerian abacha and do u see that miserable looking fish ? Might as well be sardine … me I want my fuel money back what a waste of my time , patience and money as I’m typing ,that 3/10 has become 0/10
Went to the bottomless brunch and mimosas on a Sunday. Everyone was very accommodating and cordial. The downside was that there was dust on a ledge behind me at the booth that activated my allergies, so I had to cut my visit short. Otherwise, I'd try them again for a Sunday Funday. The DJ was great!
This was a different experience for me. Not really my scene, but was exploring. Can be a chill atmosphere (need some upkeep) messed up tiles and bathroom door wasnt locking. Valet workers were very friendly. This was a BYOB night ..so didn't order food or drinks. We went out to eat prior.
I enjoyed the afrobeat tracks at this location when I stopped by on a Saturday night. Parking was available and free, and there was no cover. The vibe was more like a lounge when I arrived a few minutes past 10 pm. That transformed into a more active scene when the crowd picked up sometime past 11 pm. However, the music stayed great, and the bartenders remained attentive. I noticed the bathroom was clean as well.
