Had an awesome experience at 65 South BBQ. The pulled pork was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked just right! some of the best I’ve had. The sides were just as good (especially the mac and cheese and baked beans), and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The portions are huge, so you definitely get your money’s worth!! Come hungry or plan on leftovers. What really stood out, though, was the kind staff along with excellent food. Everyone was genuinely kind, welcoming, and made the whole experience pleasant. Highly recommend if you’re craving solid BBQ with great service!
Great food by great people. I've eaten here a number of times. I live over an hour away; the journey is absolutely worth it.
I've been trying to find a good BBQ place since I moved up here from Texas. Now, I have! Stopped in today for a pulled pork and brisket plate, and both were absolutely delicious. The baked beans and potato salad were a perfect complement, as well. I'll definitely be back.
Very friendly staff took our order and got our food right out to us. I'm embarrassed to say I asked for a knife for the brisket only to find I could easily cut it with the side of my plastic fork. Extremely tender and flavorful. The smoked mac n cheese and bbq baked beans were a 10 as well. They are open from 11 a.m. until they run out of everything, and by 2:30 pm they were out of pulled pork and chicken, so get there early. Delicious BBQ. We will definitely be back.
Pro Tip: come early and come often!!! Open at 11 am until they run out of delicious 🤤 BBQ and sides. I grew up in OK eating some fantastic BBQ and this is the real deal. Cannot wait to come back. At 3 pm on Saturday, we were able to order the last brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. The food was excellent and fresh!! Service was outstanding!!!
Definitely worth the 2.5-hour drive! (OK, we came to the area for other things too.) My personal criteria for a top-notch BBQ joint is the brisket and the mac-n-cheese. They both hit the mark big time! And the pulled pork, pulled chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad were all incredible. No ribs were ready when we arrived (super bummed), so may need to go back. Wish I lived closer!
We used to come here a lot years ago, and reading some reviews thought we had to try it since it had changed venues. Leaving town for a bit, I wanted to make sure my husband had plenty in the fridge so I stopped for takeout and this place didn’t disappoint! The world has to get back to basics, and things will really start looking better all the way around. Starting with this place ❤️ I love that the menu is simple; I love that the signs says “until sold out-“ it makes you feel special to think you are one of the few who are lucky enough to have their delicious nourishment on that day- the couple who runs it, I could tell today are hard workers- I love that they keep it simple and good- the food is like tasting recipes from family picnics and potlucks generations ago- the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed - the vibes are great- sometimes you go to a place because the food is good- sometimes because of a memory- sometimes you will get lucky and get a bit all in one shot- the brisket was savory, the pulled pork perfect- the potato salad seasoned just right- not hiding the food in sauces- I had been told to get there early before they sold out, some good advice- it looked to me like the word is getting out, lots of people enjoying their time in this nice little spot. Well done, you’ll be seeing more of us!
Hands down best BBQ restaurant in town. The pulled pork melts in your mouth, there is no gristle or fat - it’s all meat. The brisket is phenomenal, arguably the best we’ve ever had. Fresh cut fries are amazing and the baked beans are to die for. (And I DO NOT like baked beans - these are amazing). Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is clean. Highly recommend!
