3 weeks agoThe food was very good but if you go expect a very long wait. Paid for Cole slaw I never received. Waitress not very personable. She definitely didn't want to be there. My advice, just go elsewhere.

3 months agoVery nice little diner. It has become one of my regular hotspots for breakfast while on the road for work. Food is great and made fresh when ordered. Wait staff is very friendly and fast to help with your needs.

What began as a whim turned into a feast for the senses. This unassuming spot instantly transported us to a simpler era. From the moment we stepped inside, the diner's clean lines and functional elegance wrapped us in a cozy cocoon. Let's talk food.. My companion, a devoted fan of broiled fish (too rare on most menus), lit up as we saw the choices: succulent salmon, flaky haddock, or tender flounder. I opted for the flounder stuffed with crabmeat, a decadent twist that arrived piping hot, perfectly broiled to golden perfection, with the sweet, briny crab mingling in harmonious bliss. Portions were generous, flavors bold yet balanced, and every bite a testament to why this family-owned haven punches way above its weight. Yet it's those little, thoughtful flourishes that truly set 81 Diner apart and seal its spot in my heart. The water? Not a tepid trickle from the tap, but crisp, filtered H2O poured with clear care — a small gesture that speaks volumes about their commitment to quality without the upcharge. It's these touches that add up to extraordinary value, reminding you that true hospitality isn't about extravagance; it's about anticipation. 9 months agoSmall but mighty. Such a great place. They had I love Lucy playing on the TV. Food was picture perfect and tasted so good. Staff was great. They even have ice-cream.

a year agoAs much as we drove by this diner, we finally stopped for a bite to eat, and it was amazing. The inside of the diner was very clean. Now, for the food 😋 and service, the meals we ordered were very good. Our server was very polite and helpful in answering any questions we had. Thank you, Brandi, for your help and patience while we made our selection from the menu. When traveling on rt 462, the diner is located on the east side of Abbottstown , PA, a hidden gem.

a year agoA True Hidden Gem! 81 Diner is one of our family’s favorite spots—we come here all the time, and it never disappoints. The food isn’t just “homemade style”; it’s the real deal, like something Mom would cook. The mashed potatoes and fries are fresh, never frozen, and you can taste the difference. The burgers are made with fresh, loose hamburger, and the sausage patties are hand-formed from fresh sausage, not the pre-made kind. Even the pancakes are made from fresh batter, not frozen, and they’re always light, fluffy, and delicious. We stopped in for lunch on New Year’s Eve, everything was perfect. It’s a family-run place and they put so much care into every detail, from the food to the service. It’s always cozy and welcoming, and we leave full and happy every time. If you’re looking for great comfort food made with love, 81 Diner is the place to go. We’re so lucky to have it nearby!

Edited 10 months agoI've become a regular at 81. I enjoy coming in for breakfast and dinner. Great food and prices with excellent service. The highlight of the diner is one of the waitresses who does an amazing job maintaining the dining room and serving customers with a lovely smile!

a year agoWe loved this quaint little diner a family owned and operated diner. Good variety of dishes on the menu. We really enjoyed our visit. Also homemade ice cream.
