Not the kind of food for MY soul! 😝Looks like it's hit or miss with this place, depending on what day and time you come. You HAVE TO BE on point to succeed with a SOUL FOOD restaurant in a city like SUFFOLK!! Every city needs a soul food restaurant. We want you to be the one, but we don't PLAY about our food! This is not fast food. Soul food is a loving kitchen ritual from cleaning the greens to placing them on the plate. Time, skill, care, patience, pride, intention and soul should go into every dish. We can taste every bite of your improper planning, neglect, lack of care, anger, disgust, rushing, hostility, and impatience! Our families RAISED us on these delicious delicacies. We KNOW what soul food is supposed to taste like [every time]. I guess I took my out of town family members on the wrong day & time. We had a taste of everything alright. How embarrassing. 🫣😢🤢🤮Please...Take a breath before you hit that kitchen, and think about WHY you opened a SOUL FOOD restaurant if you're not going to put your soul into pleasing every customer. Know better. Do better.
This place is a real gem! So, so good. I tried the cabbage, Mac & cheese, green beans and the little bites of heaven rolls! I saw someone post it was salty( green beans) but honestly real southern food is mostly that way and I loved the flavors. Clearly I think it’s worth a stop.
EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!!!!! You put your foot in this mommas. Everything is seasoned very well. I'm coming back!!! My husband said it was good as well. I can't wait to eat my strawberry short-cake.
