2 months agoChapli kebab is my favourite kebab in the world, so I had high expectations coming here. After having some incredible chapli kebabs in Birmingham—honestly even better than the ones I’ve had in Pakistan—I was really excited to try this place near my hometown(still one hour drive away) Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to those expectations…at all. The “chapli kebab” I received was essentially a basic beef patty, more like a burger than an authentic chapli kebab. It lacked the distinctive texture, spices, and character you’d expect. I couldn’t even finish one. The Kabuli pulao and chicken wings were decent, though not particularly memorable. On the positive side, the portion sizes are generous for the price, which is definitely a plus. I might return to try the chicken karahi, as it seems like it could be a highlight, but overall I left disappointed. That said, I’d like to thank the polite and kind cashier, as well as the hardworking staff in the restaurant.

Left feeling emotionally violated and questioning my life choices The wait for food was so excruciatingly long, I half-expected them to parachute in the ingredients from a distant farm. When the meal finally made its grand entrance, I was greeted by a sad, cold plate of greasy regret that somehow managed to taste like disappointment. It was a culinary catastrophe that would make even the most mediocre diner weep. And don’t even get me started on the service. I was anticipating a meal, not an awkward episode of "The Bachelor." NASIR, one of the staff, seemed less interested in serving and more like he was auditioning for a role in a romantic comedy that nobody wanted to see. His intense eye contact felt like a contest to see who would crumble first; spoiler alert: it was me. The whole experience was so cringe-worthy I almost asked if he had ever considered a career change—maybe interpretive dance, where his talent for making guests uncomfortable could truly shine. At one point, he leaned in so close I could practically taste his questionable cologne. I was waiting for him to ask about my astrological sign or, worse, my deepest fears. Instead, I got a side of awkward flirting with my cold food, and honestly, I’d rather be fed to a pack of rabid dogs than endure another minute of it. If you thrive on waiting an eternity for food that’s as flavorless as cardboard, all while feeling like you're trapped in a twisted reality show with NASIR as the star, then congratulations—you’ve found your paradise. If you have any semblance of taste (or dignity), do yourself a solid and dine literally anywhere else. Your own kitchen, even without ingredients, would be a Michelin-star upgrade compared to this disaster.

5 months agoWhen I walked in the workers were very welcoming .I ordered a desert called Afghan ice cream and I think that was the best ice cream I have ever had had.

a year agoAn absolute must-visit for all Afghan food lovers! The flavors are authentic, the ingredients are fresh, and the hospitality is exceptional. Every dish is crafted with care, from the perfectly, aromatic rice. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience genuine Afghan cuisine at its finest!

a year agoMy wife wanted to eat Afghan food, specifically the Qubli Pilau after she had it in Dubai. We found this place on Google maps and it did not disappoint. We had the Lamb Qubli Pilau, the Lamb Biryani and what i think was a chicken curry. When it came the portions were huge and the food was excellent. It was also served with a fresh salad, naan bread and a fresh tasting dip which I think was mint yoghurt. I had afghan tea to drink which was also good and good value at £1. In general the food was excellent with tender tasty lamb and very big portions. Friendly service with a smile and excellent value. Would definitely visit again.
