I visited this restaurant expecting an authentic Middle Eastern experience, and left disappointed in every possible way. The first thing that caught my eye was the state of cleanliness, or rather, the lack of it... The table arrived with old stains, the floor around our chairs was questionable, and the corners of the dining room looked like they hadn't seen a broom in quite some time. Not exactly an appetite-opener. I'm vegetarian and ordered the omelette without sausage, it arrived with sausage. When I asked for a replacement, I watched with my own eyes as a staff member simply removed the sausage from the same plate and brought it back. Absolutely unacceptable. The Turkish coffee was watery and weak, barely deserving the name. I also ordered the kanafeh, hoping to recreate a cherished memory, when i was young i used to go with my father to his friends in Acco and they gave us Kanafeh, this thing in this place was nothing like the real thing, it was nothing like it. Clearly not fresh, and so drenched in syrup it was borderline inedible. The noise made any relaxed conversation impossible, kitchen noise bled easily into the dining room, and guests were forced to shout at each other across the table. We left with headaches.
Amazing authentic Turkish food. The soup and pide were delicious and everything is homemade including the sauces. The tea was perfect for a winter day and the food tasted just like what you find in Turkey. The owners are humble and very kind people who made us feel so welcomed and we were so happy to get to know them. We will definitely be coming again as the food was a 10/10 and the service was excellent!
This was an unplanned stop, and I’m so glad I decided to come in. From the moment we arrived, the owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, truly reflecting the warmth and hospitality of Turkish culture. We ordered the red lentil soup, pide (turkish sausage/sucuk) , and Turkish tea. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. Many of the ingredients, including the lentils, are sourced directly from Turkey, which made the experience feel truly authentic and brought back lovely memories of my time there. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it an even more enjoyable experience. This has definitely become one of my favorite spots in Kirkland, and I’ll be returning again, inshaAllah. If you’re looking for authentic Turkish food, this is a must-visit. The owners are wonderful and truly care about their customers.
