My partner and I ordered two burritos. I had the chile relleno and she had the barbacoa. I’m used to burritos being priced at $5 each, but the size of these burritos was much smaller than other burritos I’ve had in El Paso. My partner’s barbacoa burrito had beans, which is weird to me because barbacoa doesn’t usually include beans. The restaurant was dead which led us to believe they were closed. To top it all off, we both got sick afterwards. We will probably never return.
Service was extremely attentive,everyone worked as a team to make sure no one had an empty cup. The food was hot and delicious. I have known of Alba' Mexican restaurant for many years but never experienced it for myself and it lived up to its reputation. My try for local mexican food.
Going to this place for the first time was not my ideal of a good impression. I went with a group of 10pm including a child and NONE of the servers or people working would accommodate putting some tables together, so that our party could sit comfortably and adequately. Now, their reasoning to all 3 servers/workers was because THE OWNER doesn’t allow tables to be put together because of COVID and HAS NOT allowed tables to be put together since COVID. So, we did what any family would do…we squeezed in together because a family that eats together, stays together. The food was great! I had the Happy Burger and boy was I happy. The fries were a little over cooked but I was still pretty happy, but WAS NOT HAPPY about the service nor the lack or leadership or unwillingness to accommodate a party with the putting of tables together. Now, it’s a small place and I can understand the reasoning that MAY be behind not putting tables together, but if you have mobile tables and if you want your business to prosper, and if you’re in the hospitality industry, you accommodate so that you have a reputation of good service and hospitality. The servers looked like they wanted to help, but looked more fearful that they could possibly lose their job, it seemed. If I should return, I won’t be confident to take a large party. And if this business doesn’t accommodate large parties, the should put a sign, we are a small party accommodating business or NO LARGE PARTIES! Hopefully for the sake of the business, the people who work there and the people who enjoy the HAPPY BURGER OR MENUDO that they will reconsider, reconvene and RE-train servers to be confident that their business has equipped them for success!
