See All ReviewsI was impressed with the succulent grilled lamb chops, hummus, Tahiti dipping sauce, Jerusalem salad, grilled vegetables, and almond rice included on my dinner plate. Everything was prepared fresh to order and was well worth the wait! And, if they had a location closer to where I live, or work, I'd probably visit them several times a week because I love Mediterranean food! As an added bonus, they have an on-site butcher so you can take your favorite cuts home and prepare them yourself, if you like.
Very good non-meat options! I like meat a lot but sometimes, I need to take a break for health and dietary reasons. Other reviewers liked the falafels so I tried an order of 6 with a small hummus and small Jerusalem salad (chopped tomatoes and cucumber). The hummus was beautiful, decorated with olive oil, whole chickpeas, sumac and fresh herbs. The falafels were crispy on the outside and light on the inside. I could see specks of green herbs. It was quite a challenge for me to eat only 3 and save the rest for my son to taste. We will be coming back to eat more falafels. As it was lunch time, the grill chef had prepared a gorgeous plate of roast vegetables. The roasted cauliflower looked really appetizing. Stuffed grape leaves were calling my name too. As I was leaving, I noticed whole marinated POMFRET fish that was not listed on the menu. It was their new combo for $15.99. Other restaurants in Louisville seem to all offer tilapia (which I never eat). Next time, I will definitely try the pomfret! The butcher counter had some interesting raw items for the home cook, including sheep head, sujuk sausage and chicken. I bought a chicken leg to cook with their frozen Molokhia (green leafy vegetable). That makes a healthy and delicious potage that I enjoyed in Egypt.
Had such a great lunch here and can’t wait to go back. I definitely recommend looking at the menu ahead of your first trip because the line can stack up quick, but the service was still very quick for a good crowd on a Saturday. The staff was extremely friendly, and you can really tell they care about the cleanliness and experience. Food was hot, and you can tell all the meat is as fresh as can be. The shawarma is absolutely the trip if you’re in Louisville.
