See All ReviewsI feel really bad about writing this because I wanted to like it so bad but I can’t. I went to the restaurant after work, I’ve always drove past it and wanted to try it but I never did until now. It was a little later in the night, but I feel that shouldn’t be an excuse to the quality. When I pulled up, I saw on the front sign that there was peppered beef so I tried ordering and the young man at the counter had no idea what I was talking about and it wasn’t even on the menu. I ordered around $50 worth of food, took it home and shared it with my family. It was so bad. All the meat, (chicken, goat, beef) were so dried out and hard, it was difficult to eat. I ordered the jollof rice and it tasted like cigarette smoke. And the egusi soup had little to no flavor, which was shocking. The buka stew was the only item that was decent despite the tough meat. While I was in there I heard only microwaves turn off and on. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt due to its high reviews, but I was extremely disappointed with my experience.
We got the pounded yam and egusi lunch special, and it was very good! Very filling and flavorful, and a good price! Can't wait to come back!
Thank you Funmi for your excellent food and wonderful service. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
