This is such a hidden gem. I am absolutely in love with this place. The family that runs it are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, I’ve never felt more welcomed somewhere before. Their simple kind gestures are what makes this place so amazing. The chicken shawarma is phenomal get it with the hot sauce too. The falafel perfectly crisp outside and soft on the inside, even after the drive home they held their texture. The spicy hummus is to die for though, I can’t get enough of it. I mistakenly picked it up looking for the regular hummus but is easily the best hummus I’ve ever tried in my life I’m not sure if I even want to try the regular although I’m sure it’s just as amazing. My only wish is that I lived closer, I’d be there everyday. But I’m willing to drive 50 minutes here just for the products and food they sell. Absolutely amazing experience
Ammon Mediterranean Market has the best Arabic food I’ve tried in South Jersey. I’m originally from North Jersey, where great Arabic food is everywhere, so it’s been hard to find something comparable down here. But honestly, this place is better than many spots even in North Jersey. The food is incredibly fresh. The hummus is amazing, the pita is delicious, and the falafel is some of the best I’ve had. Their sandwiches are excellent too. What’s funny is I’ve known about this place for at least two years but never tried it because I assumed that since it’s a market, the food wouldn’t be that great. I was completely wrong — the food is outstanding. Another thing I really appreciated is that their meat is halal, which is important to me. I’m definitely planning to come back to buy some of their meats from the market as well. Since it’s also a grocery store, they have a great selection of products too. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the quality and portions you get. This is easily the best Arabic food I’ve found in South Jersey, and honestly better than many places I’ve tried in North Jersey too. I’m so glad I finally gave it a chance.
We only discovered this store a few months ago. It has a great variety of Middle Eastern options, including Persian brands. The owner is super nice and we always feel welcome there. We finally tried their lunch menu today and it was excellent and very affordable. We plan to visit on a regular basis!
