2 months agoFor a true taste of North Africa, you have not lived until you have had Yemanie food. If your passing thru Richmond, please, stop, rest and taste at Arabic Restaurant. You will feel you have entered a different world of wonder, culture and taste.

3 months agoThe only thing available when we went in for lunch was "chicken and rice," and so that's what we ordered. The rice was fine. The chicken was a plain roasted chicken that tasted as if it had only been flavored with salt. They gave us a sauce to put on the chicken, which I think was basically tomato and jalapeno put in a blender. It was watery and needed salt. As for the service, we waited 10 minutes before the waiter came over to say hello, we had to ask for napkins and silverware, we had to stand up and get our drinks out of the cooler, and after waiting for about 10 minutes at the end of the meal, we had to ask for the check. In short, I think there's a reason why we were the only people in the restaurant. But hey, if you like terrible service, bland food, and a menu that consists of one item, you'll love Arabic Restaurant!

4 months agoI stopped by this Arabic restaurant around 2:30 PM, but unfortunately it was closed due to construction. There was no prior notice online or on the listing, which was disappointing after making the trip. I understand that renovations happen, but it would be very helpful if the restaurant updated their hours or posted a temporary closure notice so customers don’t come out expecting it to be open. Hoping to try the food once everything is finished, but better communication would make a big difference.

4 months agoFor nearly a month, I have repeatedly tried to contact this restaurant, and no one ever answers the phone. On several occasions, my calls were deliberately declined. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for customers. Extremely disappointing experience.!!

5 months agoArabic Restaurant at 1303 Hull Street is the real deal! Forget everything you thought you knew about Middle Eastern food—this is next-level, incredibly authentic Yemeni cuisine that Richmond has desperately needed. Everything tastes homemade and slow-cooked to perfection. What we ordered: We started with the Hummus and traditional Saltah Lamb. The Saltah, with its piping hot, savory stew and frothy hulbah (fenugreek paste), was an explosion of flavor and comfort. It’s a signature dish for a reason! The main event was the Haneeth Lamb—seriously, you must get this. The lamb falls off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, marinated in aromatic spices and served over perfectly cooked rice. It’s easily one of the best lamb dishes I’ve ever had. We also tried the Kabsa Lamb, and the seasoned rice was rich and flavorful. The portions are generous, the prices are fair for the quality, and the traditional flavors are 100% genuine. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal that transports you straight to Yemen, run, don't walk, to this spot. This is going to be a Richmond favorite! Highly recommend: Haneeth Lamb, Saltah, and get plenty of the flatbread for dipping!
