The best place for Parties. The most delicious authentic Georgian food I’ve ever eaten in USA. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and joyful evening.
The best restaurant. When you enter, you can feel how much effort each employee puts in. The best staff and the most delicious food. Once you go there, you will want to go there again. The best place for any celebration. Thanks to their amazing staff.❤️❤️❤️
To clarify your response: we trusted your repeated assurances that the venue would be cleaned and properly maintained for the wedding. That is the reason we initially made the deposit. Unfortunately, after multiple visits over several months, the same serious cleanliness issues remained unchanged every single time. No client expects a wedding venue to have dirty mirrors, filthy light switches, stained carpets, and unacceptable bathroom conditions during scheduled appointments. Those are long-term maintenance issues, not simply “after banquet” mess. We did not cancel casually. We cancelled because we lost confidence that the venue would meet basic standards for such an important family event. I also find it disappointing that instead of acknowledging our concerns, you chose to blame the customer. I politely requested even a partial refund as a gesture of fairness and received no response at all. People reading reviews deserve to know both our experience and how concerns were handled afterward.
We visited Astoria in Northeast Philadelphia four times while planning my daughter’s wedding, and every single visit the venue was dirty. Filthy carpets, dusty mirrors, dirty light switches, and terrible bathrooms. The owner always blamed it on “a banquet from the night before,” but it was obvious this was long-term neglect. The owner was rude, dismissive, and rolled her eyes whenever we mentioned the condition of the venue. I paid a $500 deposit, but two weeks before the wedding I realized we could not trust this place for such an important event. I politely asked for at least 50% of the deposit back and was completely ignored. This experience caused unnecessary stress for our family during wedding planning. Please visit carefully before booking this venue. The owner’s response only proves our point. Instead of acknowledging the cleanliness concerns we raised during multiple visits, she chose to blame the customer. We trusted repeated promises that the venue would be cleaned and maintained properly for the wedding. Unfortunately, after months of seeing the same dirty conditions, we no longer felt comfortable holding such an important event there. Professional businesses respond to concerns with accountability — not sarcasm and excuses.
I had my wedding reception here at Astoria last week. I am over the moon by my experience here! Everything was truly wonderful! The food was delicious and plentiful. Some of my American guests have never had Georgian food and they could not stop eating! The service was notably exceptional. Our servers went ABOVE and BEYOND for our guests! They were professional and accommodating. They were quick and highly attentive! What more could I ask for? Astoria provided entertainment as well. The singers? I couldn't imagine they could nail Frank Sinatra and Whitney Houston covers but they did! They even handed the mic to my brother in law for some on the spot karaoke which was so special for our night. Astoria helped us serve our cake, too, which we got from a different vendor. I highly recommend @ekatos_cakeria for event cakes! My guests all had the most wonderful time and I wish I could relive my experience here. Thank you Astoria!
My wife and her friend booked Astoria weeks ago for a party with our friends, and the owner of the restaurant canceled the booking with no notice. My wife and friend contacted Astoria shortly before our event was scheduled to confirm the booking, and that's when they found out it was canceled. Despite repeated attempts to contact the owner, she refused all communication. Apparently, the owner booked a larger party and thus made more money. And she could not be bothered to utter or write a single word to my wife and her friend. This behavior exhibits lack of professionalism and integrity. So the group of us went to a restaurant called The Place on Street Road & Bustleton Pike in Feasterville. My wife and her friend booked it quickly and easily. They had great music and food! My earnest advice is to avoid Astoria at all costs.
I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and had a good time, but was very disappointed recently. Me and my friend tried to book a party for 10-12 people unsuccessfully. I spoke with the owner a month in advance to book a date. She promised to send me a menu and that was the last time I heard from her. Left multiple messages, no response... My other friend got involved since she booked at Astoria before and knew the owner. i thought it would help... She did not reply to her either! Very unprofessional behavior.. Oh well, i'm thinking the owner found better business with a party of 50 people maybe and totally ignored us. okay, i understand business, but be professional and cancel with me ahead of time. Guess what, there is always some good in a bad situation. The day before our party we found The Place Restaurant and had a great time. Service, music and the food was awesome and thats where we will go back. Forget Astoria! If it wasn't for the ignorant owner of Astoria we would not have discovered a great place to party! Thank you:)
