See All ReviewsWe were surprised no one was there on a Saturday evening but it was Christmas week and maybe families were celebrating. People should be coming here! Menu is limited but we quickly discovered they do it well. The chicken in the quesadilla was a flavored well, crispy diced pieces. Hubby said the pork in his gordita was delicious. Beans and rice side dish was well flavored and not too large a portion. Building was cold, I had to keep covered. Some of the daily specials look interesting enough that we'll come back, especially for Tuesday tortas, or Friday fajitas.
OK, my experience doesn't align with the other 5 star reviews. 1st, if you have veg/vegan folks in your party, this really isn't the place for you. Which is quite surprising, as typically you can rely on a Mexican restaurant to provide quality veg/vegan options. I ordered the "cheese" option of the gorditas and they barely had any cheese on them, definitely not enough to compensate for what would have been provided with a "meat" option - the only beans was the small side and no other veggie substitutes. 2nd, not a fan of eating tin foil with my food, since it was difficult to cut with the "to-go" silverware and served in a styrofoam container lined with foil. Maybe these other people had a different dining in experience from me. 3rd, they were out of guacamole (slightly unheard of) and when we asked to try all of the salsas we were met with a quizzical look and eventually got just a container of the pico in addition to the small containers of red and green salsa that came with the dishes we ordered. 4th, they weren't busy, and the server just wasn't super friendly/accommodating. We sat at the bar to make things easy for them (we were the only people in the restaurant.) I see people saying they drove 90 minutes and had a great experience. We drove about 35 minutes and are not motivated to come again. Maybe they went on a different day.
My favorite Mexican food! Juan the manager is a wonderful guy. And they feature original creations using fresh local seasonal vegetables. I drive an hour and a half to get there, and it's worth it!
