Absolutely delicious bbq and farm fresh food like eggs jams cheese, the home made deserts are so good to! Cant wait for this restaurant to grow and expand their menu. This place was packed even up till 20mins to closing on a Wednesday. A true virginia experience after living here for 5yrs, our family finally found the best bbq!
Had seen alot of support on the facebook groups and heard at least 1 word of mouth recommendation. Popped in last night for dinner, the brisket was amazing. The bark was very edible and the meat was juicy. All of the inhouse made sauces were uniquely packed with flavor. I went for the jalapeno mac and cheese for a side, it captured the flavor so well and did not burn my taste buds. Food was hands down, 10/10 best I've had in Virginia. Beyond that, the kitchen appeared well kept. The space was clean and refreshing, and the bathrooms were spotless. Excited to come back another day to try more.
Wow!!! We were visiting Virginia from Texas and we're invited to come visit Back 40 and I am so glad we did!!! The view while dining on the patio was so peaceful. The brisket was delicious!!! We enjoyed the whipped cream potatoes very much, as well. For dessert, we tried the strawberry pretzel dessert and I've been craving it ever since!!! You will not regret a visit to the Back 40, even if you have to go or of your way.
