Wife was in the mood for perogies. So I googled it. So glad we came in. Traditional polish food. Friendly service. Hot delicious food. Definitely will recommend to our friends. Had the kielbasa dinner. Wife had the special.
Had I reviewed this restaurant before today, I would have rates 5 stars for amazing food. We drive 30+ miles just to eat here. Today, we made the trip, with a guest who was anxious to check it out. We arrived at 3:00 to a locked door and a waitress who just mouthed "sorry". I checked the website and hours are supposed to be until 830? Won't make that trip again unless I call first. So disappointed...
Our trip to Balinski's was based on recommendations from two entirely unrelated places - a co-worker gushed about the "Polish place by Art Van" and my wife's mother saying someone from church highly recommended it. A sign on the front door offered a 10% discount for a Check-in and Like on Facebook, and we were immediately greeted by the smiling face of the server and told to feel free to sit anywhere. We began with a plate of Polish nachos. My skepticism at saurkraut on nachos was quickly put aside as the fresh, mild, house-made kraut was a perfect fit with the wild mushrooms, diced kielbasa and mozzarella cheese! The Falcon's Nest Burger was huge - almost difficult to get that first bite in, but the patty was nicely seared and the meat perfectly cooked. The crispy potato pancake gave it a nice crunch. The wife's Golabki with red-skinned potatoes in traditional red sauce was absolutely delicious! The pierogies on the side (mushroom and saurkraut) were quite flavorful and presented nicely in their side dish. Her remark while eating: "God Bless the Polish!" - I will take that to mean we will be eating here again. :)
