See All ReviewsWhen people say a hidden gem this place is exactly that. From walking in the door to getting my food and leaving the staff was nothing but polite, professional, and personable. The breakdown: Food - I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, Mac and cheese, and banana pudding. The pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious. It definitely is the one you want to eat first because of the juiciness of the meat it can start to affect the bread, the Mac and cheese was really good. Quite peppery so if you like a little spice this is a good option for you but overall I still liked it. The baked beans, I am a stickler for certain things at BBQ places and when I say the baked beans are like some I have never had before I mean it. They were amazing, they could have been a little warmer in temperature but the seasoning they add to it almost seems like a little bit of cinnamon. Probably some of the best baked beans I have ever had. (Don't tell my mom) Lastly, the banana pudding. The banana pudding was really good. Not the greatest I've ever had but it was still good it just was quite sweet. So that could be my particular taste buds. Overall here is my breakdown Customer service 10/10 They were phenomenal at getting my food going and the quickness of getting it out as well as how friendly they were Food 8/10 like I said the banana pudding and Mac and cheese weren't my perfectly acquired taste but it still was so good especially the melt in your mouth sandwich. Overall I spent $17 and got a good amount of food Cleanliness 8/10 it was a very clean environment but the only issue I see is they don't have it more filled out in the seating area. Could be they just need a little remodel and it would be great. If you are a bbq person like me with high expectations this place will definitely meet them. I am leaving full and satisfied. Definitely will be back.
This was some of the best Food I've had out in a long time. I traveled from Niles to visit the gardens and stopped for dinner. I got brisket and my mom got the pulled pork. Both sandwiches were amazing. IAnd those greens! Spot on. I had never had meat just melt when you eat it the way this sandwich did. If it's this good all the time, I will for sure make that hour drive up just to eat here.
First impression was the store was bright and clean. We were not greeted but the young lady at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful once we approached her. We told her it was our first visit and she answered our questions and took our order. We ordered to eat in; the Dirty Macaroni with chicken and beans; the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of mac & cheese and corn bread. They offer bottled/canned soft drinks. They only have five high-top tables with backless stools in their small space for seating. Our food was delivered to our table by the same friendly young lady who took our order and she was very sweet and made sure we didn't need anything else before leaving us to our food. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was a soft white bun with a massive amount of pork, dripping with dark red sauce. The pork had a wonderful flavor, smokey and fragrant; and pleasantly moist. The sauce was almost unnoticeable with all that pork. The Mac & Cheese was just like mom used to make homemade. Not creamy cheesy but you can taste the velveeta and it's nice and soft and you can see the seasonings. Good comfort food! The corn bread was pretty typical corn bread. Not too sweet but just slightly sweet and it was moist. The Dirty Mac was a hit because it disappeared quickly. The chicken was tasty and moist. We would have liked to have options for sauces; I prefer a Carolina mustard sauce and my cohort prefers a sweet sauce. The meats we tried were very good, The prices were very fair for the portions and the quality. I will be back to try more options like the greens and the elote! Maybe banana pudding too if I don't eat too much next time!
