2 weeks agoI’m a generous reviewer but honesty is paramount: this place (in the former Nonna Rossa location) was a major disappointment and mediocre from start to finish. I’m not clear what the deal was with the server but it felt like she was filling in - regardless, it was not impressive. The food … I’ll start by saying the clams appetizer was tasty (and we liked the white wine sauce), though the clams were ridiculously small. They also made a pasta dish with the clams that was good. But, man, the chicken with the piccata was depressing and the veal parm an abomination (not sure what that was but it was no doubt a frozen patty that was like cardboard with breading). The final straw was the focaccia, which we ordered to have something besides the pathetically bland bread that came gratis … I’m not sure what they think focaccia is but it does not resemble slightly toasted pita bread. The cocktails were incredibly weak and mediocre. Not sure what they are going for here - seemed like an effort to resurrect Nonna Rossa, which we enjoyed several times in past - but Italian is not the way.

3 weeks agoExcellent spaghetti Bolognese and the pasta was perfection to al dente. The owner was exceptional with Customer Service and came to our table personally. Highly recommend the food is delicious!

4 weeks agoIt is rsally difficult to give a review ... I booked online for Mother's Day dinner (which was advertized widely). I think the response overwhelmed the staff and kitchen with numerous people waiting. Our reservation was honored on time, but after 20 minutes sitting at a table without even water, we left and were promptly served at another restaurant close by.

3 months agoWe ordered the Pasta Vongole and Chicken Piccata to-go. Both had very little flavor and the chicken might have been the driest I’ve had in my life with no breading to give it texture or flavor. On the bright side, the lady who took my order was very pleasant.

4 months agoNice little restaurant with a quiet atmosphere. Food was fast and delicious, and the staff was great. 15-25 per plate was about right for what it was. The house bourbon is Jim Beam so you have to ask up front for a better liquor. It's was very clean, the order was prompt and the wait staff and kitchen was respectful and professional. Not a bad spot for a weekday Italianrestaurant.

5 months agoWent to Basil & Bourbon Sunday. The food was good. I am a New England resident, so we can be very picky. The service was great and the atmosphere was great as well. Our food came out quickly. I had the Chicken Parmesan and my wife had the Bolognese. The Chianti Rigoletto was also a nice touch!

5 months agoOn a positive, the bread that came out was delicious. Small little pockets that were airy and light. Soup was also tasty! For an entre I had the special which was veal marsala which came out as a stew swimming in an an over peppered and under flavored sauce. The veal was not tender at all but was driven on the Chisum trail all the way from Kansas. The pasta that was supposed to come with the dish never arrived but I tried some of my date's and it was basically Barella from Publix. The Chianti was dull for $13 and the Prosecco was like a bag wine. It was over priced if the meal and drinks were good but they were not. I would not recommend this new version of this restaurant.

a year agoRecently visited with a group of 4 and overall it was a great experience. The drinks were great. The wine list is not very extensive but the prices were very good. Many great values on the list. Service from Alicia was the best. The atmosphere was not very Italian, but it was fine. The entrees were very good and good size servings. Veal Saltimbocca and Parpadelle were the best we had. Met the owner which was a treat.
