According to The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Be Happy Restaurant 362939, 641 Schuylkill Ave. Reading, November 18. Pass. Raw chicken was stored above raw beef, in the refrigerator. Raw Food in the refrigerator area stored open with no covering. Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the refrigerator, is not being date marked. Hood systems has not been cleaned by professional no time stamp nor documentation indicating last time hood was cleaned. Mops are not being hung to air dry.
Found a metal stainless scrub wire in my orange chicken after i took a bite could’ve ate it if i wasn’t looking… overall the food was ok.
Service was weird two owners, I believe husband and wife and they just looked at each other to see which one would serve me. I placed my order got sweet n sour chicken white rice and pizza egg roll. Some of the pieces of chicken the breading looked like it was freezer burnt kinda white-ish with lots of holes most of the chicken was regular color and texture. As I was waiting I just was looking around and realizing how dirty that place was i dont know if I would have ordered. But they say some of the best food comes from those places but was basic nothing to write home about. Just gotta make a mental note not to get hungry for Chinese on a Monday cause my go-to spot for Chinese is not open hence why I tried this place.
