I was genuinely surprised when I walked in and saw the transformation. The Bearded Monkey has done an excellent job remodeling the space. The atmosphere is clean, inviting, and a significant improvement from what was here previously. The food is typical pub fare, but it’s done well, and the drinks were good. My only criticism would be the service. While it wasn’t bad, it could have been a bit friendlier and more attentive throughout our visit. Overall, a great addition to the area, and I would definitely stop in again.
Had family in from out of town. Just came back from a great day in DC decided to try your bar and grill. Live music great atmosphere. Ordered dinner 3 burgers 1 Ruben for the table. 2 burgers were so raw when ordered well done. They had to be sent back. 3rd burger under cooked but eaten unsatisfied. 45 minutes later 2 members of family finished the meal 2 not even served properly. Other 2 finally come out and my husband's is still raw he again ordered. WELL DONE Worse off the waitress charged us for the meal my husband couldn't eat not once but twice. To pay for this service is redic your cook don't know the difference then he is not a good cook and maybe should go back to doing the dishes.
I recently stopped by The Bearded Monkey and it turned out to be a solid spot to catch a game. 🏈📺 If you enjoy watching sports while hanging out with friends, this place has plenty of TVs covering the walls so you won’t miss any of the action. When I visited, they were showing every NFL game, and some were even playing on multiple screens from different angles, which made it easy to follow everything happening. The place itself was clean and well maintained, which always makes the experience better. 👍 The bathrooms were also surprisingly tidy and well stocked. The bar area is huge and stretches across the entire back wall, so there’s plenty of space even if you come alone and just want to sit and watch the game. 🍻 Another cool feature is the stage they have for live bands, so it’s not just a sports bar — they also offer live music and other entertainment from time to time. 🎶 Overall, it’s a relaxed and enjoyable place to watch sports, grab a drink, and have a good time. 😊
Whiskey Tango - 6 came out and rocked the stage on Saturday. Great band, good tunes! Kept the audience engaged and jamming. Cool group of guys with fun personalities. Lead singer even jammed on the harmonica! Had some 70’s & 80’s rock music mixed in their set. Awesome night. Can’t wait to see the group again. The staff at the Bearded Monkey were friendly and attentive. Cool place to chill! Shout out to Book ‘Em for getting this group in to play and the Facebook invite.
Fun atmosphere. Service was adequate at best. Bartender didn’t know which beers were on the menu & brought wrong drinks; then couldn’t figure out which tap matched our order. Burgers were dry.
Stopped for dinner on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar. This is a sports bar. There are four large flat-screen over the bar and other screens located all around. They have a vast selection of beers on tap, including some local craft beers. We ordered a wing platter, 16 wings. I had mine with Old Bay dry seasoning and my wife tried Honey Siracha. First of all, the wings are huge! They were cooked properly and really hit the spot. Saturday night is College Football night, so each screen had football. Service was friendly and pretty good as well.
After hearing positive things about this place in social media we stopped in for burgers on a Sunday afternoon… they weren’t busy when we got there and we sat at the bar. The bartender was helpful and friendly and gave us some suggestions. We each ordered a burger and they didn’t take very long to come out. I ordered mine medium and my wife ordered medium well, but they both came out close to well done and very dry. The burgers sure did look beautiful and impressive, but when we bit into them, the meat was dry and flavorless. The toppings were decent, but wasn’t enough to overcome the dryness of the meat. The bun was outstanding and toasted perfectly. The fries are crinkle cut and were pretty good as well. As for the venue, it’s decent… more of a roadhouse type bar feel with open ceiling, cinderblock walls, and a musty smell. We’d return, but will probably try something else the next time.
Came in during happy hour so it was quiet. But that was great after being on the road a few hours. Clean, plenty of tables, big working screen TVs, music, pool tables, and running fan's throughout the restaurant. Now for the food, fantastic. Fresh ingredients, flavorful, local beer on tap and great service. Definitely recommend and if in the area, will most definitely stop by again.
