B’s Island Kitchen — let me explain. Yes. Just… yes. I honestly can’t come up with enough words to say yes, so let’s start there. My husband had curry chicken. I had curry goat. Both were fall-off-the-bone tender, deeply seasoned, and exactly what you hope for when you order Caribbean food done right. The macaroni and cheese? Delicious. The cabbage? Delicious. The cornbread? Also delicious… and let me be clear, I do not eat cornbread. I took two bites… and then two more. That should tell you everything. For the sake of being fair and actually helpful in a review: the rice and beans didn’t quite stand up to the greatness of everything else for me. That is not to say they were bad at all, just that when everything else is operating at such a high level, that’s the one place there’s room to grow. And honestly, that’s nitpicking. Now let’s talk portions, because this matters. Get the large plate. Period. If you don’t mind leftovers, you can eat off it three times. Three meals. Do the math: $25 divided by three meals = there’s your answer. Or get a large plate and share it with someone else. These days, that move would be cheaper than the grocery store, and a LOT more satisfying. Real, authentic Caribbean food. Comforting, generous & soulful. Now, for full transparency: I gave a 3 for atmosphere. It’s a hole-in-the-wall, and to some people it might look a little sus, However, I absolutely craned my neck through that window to see what the kitchen looked like, and it was clean. So while it may not present beautifully from the outside, from the naked eye that kitchen was well-kept, and that was plenty good for me. So, as I said at the beginning… Yes. Yes to everything.
