Went round & round over Easter brunch reservations. Arrival times allowed were very strict, & limited. We were limited to a very few. However, the place was empty the whole time we were there! Also didn't appreciate the omelet chef taking a personal call while cooking my food. She then proceeded to tell me how she is a recovering addict, & about her sad home life. (None of my business, & I didn't start the conversation). However, the buffet was impressive & beautiful. Service decent & friendly. Wish they had a Senior menu.
We only get up to Monroe once a month but we always stop here for dinner. We haven't had any thing we didn't like. Nice salad bar. Great onion soup, ribs tender aND taste great. Pulled pork and pulled pork is great. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
I'd like to give it a 3 1/2 to 4 star. When Blues first opened the ribs were amazing. The ribs are very well cooked... almost perfect (almost). Unfortunately for the quality of the BBQ sauce has gone down. They are now cooked naked and the sauce sometimes added when the ribs are served. And the flavor and quality of the sauce has dropped. It is sometimes cold, and once it tasted like A1 steak sauce. The deserts are hit and miss. One time my wife ordered cheese cake and it was very gritty, the waitress gave it an "oh well" attitude. The locally/hand made canolies while made with good ingredients are often many unfilled, a bad of filling on each end and a hollow tube beyond that. We continue to go to blues because the ribs are are typically good but used to be better. There used to be a much better place in Detroit (Milt's)... But for Monroe Blues is as good as it gets (so far). Best to avoid during busy hours, that when service and quality really drops.
