Saw the pics online , and food looks like absolute trash... Where the pics of the BBQ? All I see is burgers that look like trash and chicken nuggets with sauce.
The food was good. Service not so good. 3 of the party ordered salads, 2 came out before dinner, 1 with dinner. Filet and baked potato ordered with out butter, came out in butter, sent back and took over 30 minutes for a medium rare filet. The rest of party done eating. Had to ask for our side Mac and cheese. Texas toast came out black and too burnt to eat, asked for it to be replaced and was almost done eating when it came out. Was not worth our $400 bill
Saw this restaurant on a police video where the police were chasing someone and they ran into the back of the restaurant. When the police went in to look for her it was disgusting in the area where they cook and the area where they wash up the pot and pans as well as the dishes. This place needs a health inspections. Can't imagine that they are passing them or have even had an inspection. Absolutely disgusting.
We drove 1 1/2 hrs to eat here, because was told food was really good. They didn't lie! We arrived and the parking lot wasn't crowded but within 25 minutes it was packed! The food for 20 people came out fast, and was very tasty. The 2 waitresses were excellent! The owner stopped by and chatted with the group at that end of our table, and seemed very nice. Those 2 waitresses were on the money, kept checking on us, was honest about the collard greens, ( which were good) , did refills quickly. I even brought some leftovers home. Would highly recommend
Big Jim's is the place only locals know, best hole in the wall BBQ and multi generation family owned. I had their rib sandwich, came smothered in a mild spicy mustard sauce and served with two slices of white bread. I suggest you order 20-30 minutes ahead and well worth the wait.
Stop be aware!!do not eat here! The food is horrible! And they don't give you your money's worth. There is no season on the food. I spent 20 dollars on a oxtail plate. I only got 3 small oxtails with what taste like some turkey neck gravy. And the gravy was also turning to geltine. I know what sOulfood suppose to taste and I don't know why they are still in business
I am a regular there and hardly make reviews unless it is really great or really poor. I spend 25-35 each time I come. There were two booths on the bar side with people in them. There was also 6 senior citizens who came obviously for happy hour. The came for only the cheep drinks and were obnoxiously LOUD. Not only did it bother me but also one of the other tables had a couple with a small child which I could overheat them even say how rude the 6 people were. If I ever go there again I will never sit in the bar section. The sad part was the staff didn’t care which is sad! I think this was my last time there which is their loss because I used to go there 2 times a week!
This place is the BBQ Gospel Truth!! My wife and I ate here today. I knew I was in the right place because of the wood in the back. We had the ribs with a mustard based sauce...it went perfectly with the ribs. The sides were pretty good too...the Baked Beans were a bit different than I've eaten at other places, but were delicious. Jim is a very friendly and makes you feel right at home. I recommend that you try this place out. Also, check out the Chicken and Rice, very good.
