See All ReviewsThe price is good. Service seems to be getting worse and worse every time I go there. It took over a hour for my wife to get served. I usually get the breakfast bar to avoid the wait. The breakfast bar was out of items and the cooks had to scramble to keep it filled. Since the new ownership the bacon does not get cooked to a crisp, under cooked, gross. The sausage is adequately cooked but could use some more time in the grill. No more sweet apple desert with the breakfast bar. The bacon is good quality and if they cooked it to a crisp and drained it after cooking it would be so much better. Same with sausage. No air conditioning but that is really not a issue. Shade trees and a breeze keep the place comfortable. People go to Big John's to escape the monopolistic competitive chains like Denny's, McDonald's, Bob Evans, and others. It use to be a nice red neck do drop in joint where you could pig out on the breakfast bar, the new owner needs to pay attention to the details and get it back to its former standards.
As of May, 2012 it is under new ownership. Same great smoked meats. New gas flat top grill for the Black Angus burgers and deep fryer for that excellent catfish, and fries.
Get a triple cheeseburger. So friggin' good. Kinda like eating at Five Guys, but better, but that style... get it? Oh and cheaper than Five Guys. And they have tons of BBQ. Breakfast is cheap, but the buffet is a little overrated.
