After my trip to New Orleans, I was in search of the best Muffuletta Sandwich in S. Florida. After a few disappointments, I found Big'umms. Just awesome!!! Just as good, if not better than any Muffuletta I had in N.O. I also had a cup of Gumbo, which was just as good as the sandwich. The couple that run it are very friendly and treat you like family. I would highly recommend!!
Delicious food and amazing customer service π₯ nothing like a 32oz shrimp and crawfish mix w/ cornbread & Mac ππ»
Such great vibes, music, the gumbo is the best I've ever had + excellent service! Will be back with more friends to enjoy this delightful dish with.
I had the most delicious jambalaya. I bought 3 of the 32oz containers and brought it to work to share. People were fighting over the leftovers. I will be trying the gumbo next. Yum!
I have NEVER seen an establishment sell Muffulettas outside of New Orleans. Finally! Whenever I'm craving this niche sandwich, I can just come to Big Umms. I was thoroughly impressed with the bread in particular. Muffuletta rolls are impossible to come by outside of NOLA. And finding a recipe online is even harder (I bake bread from scratch and have yet to find a good recipe). Guess what? This place ships the rolls straight from New Orleans. They're just like I remember - delicate and soft, yet hearty enough to hold its contents and olive salad. The olive salad and deli cuts used inside the sandwich are fresh, tasty, and just right when in the mood for a fantastic cold sandwich. Special shoutout to the owners who are two wonderful folks working the stand at Yellow Green. Southern Hospitality at its finest!
I have been missing crawfish etoufee as it is nearly impossible to come by here in South FL. This is completely authentic as if you were in the Big Easy. Here's hoping Ellis and his wife open a brick and mortar restaurant where they can share the cooking on a daily basis instead of just weekends. We need a REAL New Orleans restaurant and they can deliver that.
The best New Orleans home style cooking I have ever had. The service is also great. If you haven't tried the Ya Ka Mein Soup, you have been missing out. Go see Charla and Ellis, they will definately make you feel at home. Best New Orleans home style food in this neck of the woods.
Quaint little shop for New Orleans style fair. Everything made to order. The lady was very polite and welcoming. Seating is outside around the back. The homemade jambalaya was outstanding. Definitely excited to go back and try some of the other selections.
