Boy I tell you what.... You're messing up if you don't try this place. It's the best tacos / food around ! The fajitas are cooked over an open fire , and if you know food , THATS where the flavor comes from. The rice and beans are authentic and delicious. It's actual restaurant quality and service , because it's a satellite truck for an actual restaurant in Pearland Texas. I've eaten there too. Both absurdly delicious. The guys in the truck treate like family. It's open Thursday through Sunday. I'm there Thurs through Sunday....😁 I love the tacos , and tortas ! Don't forget to try the birria tacos !!
My job takes me all over the place, so I need to eat wherever I can. When I write a review of a place, usually that’s the result of a single visit—I very rarely have an opportunity to dine somewhere more than once. The Birrieria El Compadre Food Truck is an exception. I was working in the neighborhood and not only did I eat there once, but I deliberately chose to eat here again, a remarkable thing given the limited time that I spend in a given neighborhood. El Compadre is truly exceptional food. This first time I had lunch here, I had Five Mini Tacos Especial. Each one was, I swear, better than the one before it. Sporting a pair of salsas to drizzle on these luscious tacos, this was a truly sumptuous meal; I felt happy for the rest of the day. The next time I visited, I specifically asked for a pair of Birria Tacos for which these guys are know for. Why? Birria is a western Mexican marinade, and in my experience, if the chef says, “this is my speciality,” order it! The beef was tender, moist, and simply delicious. My meal also came with rice and moro beans. The beans reminded me of some black-eyed peas that I had a few weeks ago In Cleveland, something to crave for days afterwards. Also included was a sample of consume soup and limes as garnish. I strongly recommend that you ask for the onions and cilantro toppings. They add a real pop of flavor to the tacos, but they are served on the side so that you can add as much as you’d like as you eat. I also consider myself lucky that I had a grilled Serrano pepper as well—my mouth was singing for at least an hour afterwards. If you’re in Houston, find a way to get to El Compadre. There is no way that you’ll be disappointed. I’ll be telling all of my friends in Ohio that this is the place.
Was craving birria tacos and this was the first place I found. I’m soooo glad I went they were so friendly and the tacos were BOMB. I went close to closing time and they gave me charro beans and they were hands down the best charro beans i have had in a while. I will definitely be returning!!!
