See All ReviewsWell it is hard to leave this review but I must be honest. First I have always loved the atmosphere and the people that work there. Today i ordered a Chicken fried steak sandwich and a ham and cheese sandwich with onion rings. I specifically asked if the steak and onion rings were homemade and not frozen, they told me it was homemade. The ham and cheese was ok but the ham was very thick and not appetizing at all, the steak and onion rings were terrible and right out of a bag. Please please use the good stuff and not this frozen junk. Thank you…. I’m so glad you’re here
Well I am giving three stars because it's both great for food and coffee taste but very unbearable if you get cold easily. But to start with good .. it is shocking to find such an upscale coffee and cafe diner food in such a small rural Texas town and it is welcome . I have had a rueben sandwich and a avocado toast with sausage and both were quite good . I had one basic coffee with oat milk and it is very smooth and exceptionally smooth flavor . The drat side of experienced dining here are that the first visit resulted in waiting almost an hour with only a few visible customers ..for two sandwiches . They came out kind of cold and as if they'd been rushed with barely toasted bread . But yes the cold air blowing on tables is my main complaint . This is not normal AC on a mildly hot day ..this is ac blowing on tables with it being 47 outside and ice warnings hours before . This is cold air blowing down at dusk when it's around 60 in the sun ..and men were too cold to sit there . That needs fixing if you ask me ..but the lovely decorations and music inside is real nice . Lastly .as an afterthought .. the food menus need to be easily seen and not something you have to wait and ask for . The coffee and pastry menu is all anyone can see until you get a staff member to hand you menu . That's all I can offer as constructive criticism and hope they do well.
Fantastic little place! Dropped in with a group of 11, and they handled it smoothly, and the food was great! We had the chicken salad, the loaded avocado, grilled chicken sandwich, nuggets, quesadilla, and grilled cheese w tomato soup, and not a complaint in the group! Chicken was hot and fresh, all the portions sized and prices were reasonable. All in all, if I’m in the area again, I WILLLLL be coming back.
