Came in on a quiet Sunday night for a last minute date night. We decided to sit at the bar and were instantly greeted by a super friendly young woman (I think her name was Elle). She was so helpful and got us drinks quickly. She gave us some amazing food recommendations and made one of the best old fashioned’s I’ve ever had! If you come in the this BJ’s in Elk Grove make sure to ask for Elle and make sure to tip your bartender
Good spot esspecially for get togethers, nice seating for large groups although I would recommend setting a reservation online as it can get quite crowded esspecially in the evening. Stacy and Marcus were our servers and she was quite lovely she is very friendly and attentative to us. Great service esspecially considering a busy Friday, food sevice was promt :D There's a $13 meal deal with a pizookie, put in the pics
Every time I come here it gets worse. I'm baffled that they get any good reviews anymore. There wait times to get seated are ridiculous and then you have to wait forever for the good to arrive. The last time we even ordered the kids food strait away in hopes they wouldn't have to wait as long and it came out after everyone else's which took 45 minutes. The best thing we got this time was the salad so that doesn't say much. The burgers were extremely over cooked, and dry, they were ordered medium. I guess that's why they took 45 minutes to cook. We ordered burgers as a safe bet after last time getting the driest over cooked Prime rib. One upon a time this was a great place to go for a meal but they just can't seem to manage these days. Friendly nice staff is not the same as good service, and they are all friendly, and given that we had 4 different servers this time and 3 the last I feel confident in saying they are all friendly. We went this time at my granddaughters request to have pazooki's and it was her special night, but we didn't even end up getting them because the server told us it would take at minimum another 20 minutes for the order and we had already been there so long. I used to recommend here, but now I say spend that money on quality food and experience instead. It's not worth all the waiting. And there are plenty of good places in the area.
I looooooovvvveeeeeee BJ's especially the open seating in the bar area on busy weekends. MY FAVORITE SERVER of all time is Kennie!!! He's always in a good mood, greets you with a smile, and takes care of you from the beginning to the end of your visit. I'm still amazed that he doesn't need to write down your order and he remembers it all!!! I go there often and he even remembers my order from last time! Lol. Great food and even better service!!! Next time you go, ask for Kennie and tell him you saw my review!
My lovely Mrs and I LOVE Bjs! And today we were fortunate to have Lydia serve us.(Elk Grove) Lydia J at BJ’s deserves a whole trophy case, a parade, and her own holiday. From the moment she walked up to our table, it felt like the entire restaurant leveled up. Lydia wasn’t just a server, she was an EXPERIENCE. Her energy? Perfect. Her timing? Immaculate. Her attention to detail? Olympic-level. Her kindness? Actually unreal. She treated us like we were the only table in the place, even though she was clearly juggling a full section. Drinks never got low, food came out exactly how we ordered, and she checked in at the exact right moments — not too much, never too little. That is a SKILL. On top of that, Lydia has this way of making you feel genuinely welcome. She’s warm, funny, and somehow remembers every single little request without writing anything down. It’s like she has server superpowers. Honestly, BJ’s is lucky to have her. Restaurants dream of employees like Lydia. If there’s any competition going on, she should win it by a landslide. She raises the standard for hospitality and makes dining there something special. If you're going to BJ’s, ask for Lydia J. She’s the best server I’ve ever had, anywhere. Period. ( also huge shout out to the chefs for their dedication and commitment to serving perfect meals every time!)
I brought my father-in-law to have a prime rib dinner. This was their version of “Prime rib.” I believe it was just a steak. It came out very very salty. We didn’t complain although we should have. Also our waiter took about 45 minutes to bring our dessert after we finished our meal. They have about 10 TVs with sports. Only one of them had the Sacramento Kings playing, which is our home team and it was the season opener. The other TVs had the Golden State Warriors game playing. I asked the waitress if she can put on the kings game on a TV near me and she blew me off and said oh somebody requested that TV for the Warriors game. There was nobody watching the game I was looking at all of the customers and not one person was paying attention. She just blew me off. I’ll never be back to BJ’s ever again!
A wonderful restaurant offering a unique experience that combines a lively atmosphere with delicious food. The service is excellent, the staff are friendly, and the dishes are varied and served to high quality, especially the desserts and specialty drinks. It's an ideal place for family or friend gatherings, and I highly recommend it.
We have made a reservation for a party of 14 Sunday 4pm . We arrived 7 minutes early. We were told that we were here too early and that they needed at least 15 minutes that our server hadn't even arrived yet. I still to this day do not understand how it is our responsibility If an employee shows up or not further shift and the delay in getting our table. Definitely will think twice about reserving a large group or party at this restaurant. I don't feel our business was appreciated.
