It's even better than before. This is truly reminiscent of the good old days; every bite is so delicious it makes me exclaim my mother's name. Martha, Martha, Martha with every bite. Although she is no longer with us, I suppose this serves as your adoption notice. Lol I thoroughly appreciate all the improvements you've made with the upgrade. The decor, the DJ on the big screen, and the food that is not only satisfying but also linger delightfully on my taste buds and my memory for hours. a month agoWow So Happy we found this spot! Perfectly seasoned food nice people serving and they are constantly cleaning! I’d drive 50 mins Again just for the cake! 🤣

2 months agoFirst time in today for lunch. Had the Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Collards. Are were terrific. Great seasoning, the Meatloaf was amazing. Then I had to have one of those pieces of cake. Delicious. I'll definitely be back.

2 months agoClean spot. Good music to vibe while waiting on line. I ordered the baked chicken with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes it was ok. Chicken looks good and juicy but lacking in flavor. Mac n cheese was cheesing but I had better. Mashed potatoes was drowned with flavorless bein ok gravy. It was ok. The cornbread was ehh. The staffs need to smile more and acknowledge customers for choosing them out of any other restaurants. I originally ordered the meatloaf but they ran out by the time it was my turn. They weren't making anymore. This was after 2pm. You may love it or like it. I wouldn't skip it because everyone has different taste buds. Hope you have a better experience than I had.

2 months agoFirst visit they close early cuz they ran out of food. Second visit I was there for an hour when I finally got up to the counter to order they tell me it's a 20-minute wait for meatloaf when I get to the register to pay the lady answers the phone in the middle of me talking to her. I also recommend paper menus you can pass out while customers are standing in that long line so they can be prepare to order when they get up to the counter. You guys have the menus written in small words all the way up the front corner. It will be nice to look at the menu and see what's available while you're waiting in the line that's all the way at the front door. And the meatloaf was dry. You guys need to be more prepared and offer good customer service. I won't be returning. Bad taste in my mouth.

2 months agoMaybe it’s because they have been out of business for awhile but the blue lemonade is not the same it’s very tart and makes you have indigestion, the black eyed peas were not tasty at all… and my cornbread muffin is literally dried out ,hard as a rock ,dark & it’s so stuck to the paper like burnt into the paper ! The taste of the food is not worth the pricing anymore ! But it is a very nice establishment with nice people . but I hope they make changes to the food soon because it’s a beautiful place to go to waste… bottom line the food is not very flavorful at all

a year agoThe food wasn’t all that at all . The ribs were a 7/10. The mash potatoes wasn’t good . The green beans wasn’t hitting . The fried chicken wings were okay . The fried chicken reminded me of Chinese fried chicken 6/10. The yellow rice was horrible. The potato salad was a waste of money and time to get . Food is too expensive and it isn’t good . I wouldn’t come back unless I’m just coming to get the ribs and fried chicken only and that’s it . Oh yeah the pink lemonade was really good and the Mac and cheese . $60 done the drain

a year agoI went today and we tried the spot because everyone recommends them for soul food. I’ve been in Tampa since 2008, and I have yet to find a spot that truly delivers. Their beef stew…it had a weird raw curry flavor. The collard greens were bitter, and the field peas were not fluffy on the inside. The cabbage and broccoli were both chopped in big pieces that were hard to break down. The turkey wings were tender but lacked real flavor. The cornbread dressing was decent but again no real flavor. I cook so I come in expecting restaurants that charge high prices to deliver and all I can say is we went, but I don’t have to return.
