I have been to alot of BBQ restaurants in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Ft.Hood, El Paso, etc. I had em all. From corporate chains to mom & pop's and in between. I am VERY specific about my BBQ. Thay being said I LOVE Pulled Pork because its easy to fix with BBQ sauce in case it gets overcooked or under flavored, this pulled pork was GOOD! Not too sweet, not too salty (I like mine a lil' salty with peppercorn) not too much sauce so that you can taste the meat. Potatoes were cooked perfectly, tender not hard and had a smooth buttery flavor and accompanied by the right amount of cheese. The green beans could use some bacon and a little kosher salt(just my suggestion) but also were very fresh and buttery as well. I had initially skipped the brisket because the man had said it was lean, but it had fat ends. Ordinarily whe. A restaurant doesn't marble their brisket its usually a little tough and I like mine juicy and soft. I KNEW I was gun a kick myself if I DIDN'T try it and I'm SO GLAD I did... It was so soft almost like it had been cooked like a pot roast and was so juicy, the fat tasted unreal, slightly salty, lots of smoky flavor (not too much it felt like you were slow smoking it in your mouth 🤣) and Im SO GLAD I tried it. I WISHED I could bring an exec or pitmaster from. BLANCO BBQ in SATX here and say "THIS is how I want my brisket!" Congratulations to Pit & Grill for helping me feel like I was at a friend's or family's BBQ and they had been preparing meat for days leading up to this cookout!
I like their food. I had fish taco few times. Grilled chicken asian salad. I did not like Buffalo chicken taco. However food is over-priced for no reasons. I guess it's small town cafe, they are just making 💰 from people.
I stopped here for lunch and the young man working the host stand AND waiting tables was HUSTLING!!!! He did an amazing job. The food was hot and fresh and just like I ordered. The steak fingers were amazing. The mashed potatoes were homemade. Will definitely stop here again!
