A family favorite, and the smoked chicken salad is worth the drive alone. Friendly staff and a great location, just outside of the town center. Do yourself a favor and get 2 pints of chicken salad and some hot sauce, and chow down. I did manage to leave my tea on the roof of the car, sorry to whoever was behind me.
We ordered a brisket and pulled pork combo to go. The collard greens were pretty heavy on the salt, and the brisket had more of a “leather shoe” texture than expected. The pulled pork was decent, but not memorable. We grabbed a few pies for later—fingers crossed those are the real stars of the show. 🤞🏼
I may have reviewed before but I love this place. The smoked chicken salad sandwich is so delicious. We always stop and get a container of chicken salad to go when traveling. My husband had the sliced chicken sandwich and it was delicious as well.
