I have been going to Brasserie Central on a regular basis for about 9 years. There are good reasons for that, including: - Excellent food: I’ve had almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. From steak to the daily lunch special, the food, coupled with the music and ambiance, takes you to Paris. -Attentive and friendly staff: The staff is amazing. Chef Alex, GM Victor, all the bartenders, servers, food runners, and hosts, all do their best to make your visit special. -Ambiance: the décor is charming and the air is filled with French music and the buzz of cooking and conversations. -Great Happy Hour In summary, I look forward to coming here every time and I always leave with a smile.
I decided to stop in for Hqppy Hour. I started by ordering a glass of wine and mussels. The wine was solid, and the serving of mussels adequate But it always seemed like I was putting the bartender out, EVEN though I was literally the ONLY person sitting at the bar, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Typically... when one orders mussels, they give you some bread to soak up the broth. None was offered, but when I asked they did provide some. I also ordered the gnocchi...which I thought generally lacked seasoning. I definitely plan on sticking to the mussels in the future.
Unfortunately, recommending this restaurant would be wrong of me. Do not let the name or the marketing fool you it is far from being Authentic French cuisine. I should have definitely read the reviews before dropping in. I ordered a Bibb Salad that was a complete joke. Nothing about this salad was elegant or classic. It was missing a few important ingredients, no minced shallots, chives, tarragon, parsley. There was no mustard vinaigrette as described in their own menu. I then also ordered their Poulet Rôti (Rotisserie Chicken) major disappointment. Boston Market serves better chicken. One taste of the potatoes disgusting probably was made from a box. The brown gravy they added to chicken tasted like powdered gravy mix can't even bother with making in-house gravy. Sad. 0
