Interesting. I had HIGH HOPES for this place. Being a true southerner (North Carolina and Virginia) I looked forward to enjoying a true southern lunch. Yet my hopes proved dim. I managed to eat half of my shrimp & grits (the shrimp were fried and placed on top - NOT how it is supposed to be). My spouse ate half of her crawfish ettouffe. Yet it was overly spicy. The collards were inedible (yuk!). The grits had no taste. The fried green tomatoes could not be cut (literally). The banana pudding had no bananas and tasted nothing like bananas. I don't know what to say! They are a new small business and I do NOT want to hurt their business. But they will not be open long based on their lunches. I will return and try their breakfast. I've heard good things about it. I hope the breakfast is edible. They need to offer breakfast all day and not stop at 11am
Broadway Standard is a small restaurant serving southern comfort food in the old downtown of Grove City. My fiance and I came in for lunch, and had a fantastic experience! We had the Nashville hot chicken mac and cheese and the chicken tenders. The meat was tender and juicy and the balance of spice for the Nashville hot sauce was just right! The lunch entrees each come with two sides, and the collard greens were very flavorful, the fries were crispy and the corn pasta salad was a nice cool contrast to the hot food! Also, we were excited and surprised to know that a small dessert came free with each meal, which was a lovely surprise! We were served quickly by friendly staff, and intend to recommend our friends and family stop by the next time they are in town!
Really, really good! Got fried green tomatoes to share and the fried chicken tenders entree. It’s not basic chicken, it’s seasoned extremely well and freshly fried. Nashville hot sauce was delicious. Got the collared greens and beans and rice sides and the mini included dessert options are the perfect size- don’t skip! Got the banana pudding and blueberry cobbler options! So excited to have a place like this in GC. Excited for them to (hopefully) open the front patio. The service was really good too!
