8 months agoI dont like giving places bad reviews but after reading some of the reviews its warranted. I've driven by this place a lot and never parking STRIKE 1, had to park a block away almost blocking bus stop and I was afraid of being towed. Place inside look decent, clean, but lady greated me like I was bothering her. Her overall tone was dry, no smiles or pleasant tone. Finally get the food and eat at home. I got yellow rice and beans with baked chicken, sweet plantain and 1 alcapuria. Rice was good although bland, chicken was ok but was not evenly seasoned. Sweet plantain tasted weird and were not sweet. Almost like they were frozen to preserve them? And the alcapuria had about a tea spoon of meet and it was all kinda bland. Some may like this place but I didn't, and because there is never parking I dont think ill give it a second chance.

a year agoOverpriced overpriced. Food was overpriced, shrimp fried rice and rice and beans cost $41 for medium. Cashier first said 44 and after I paid asked for an additional $3 . I will never go back there. Was there with a baby and Asked to sit and eat the meal we bought, and they said we can’t sit and eat because we ordered to food to go, even though all table and chairs was vacant. Terrible customer service. Shrimp fried rice is $27 with no sides. Side is sold separately

a year agoI give it 5 stars because it is super delicious, fresh food. I love it since I moved to New Haven, CT. My children and we really like the food at Buen Gusto restaurant. I recommend it 1000❌1000 times.

a year agoI stopped here for lunch to go and was very happy with my meal. I got some kind of pork (I don’t speak Spanish, so that’s the most I know), rice, beans, and plantains! They had a lot of options, the food was hot, the cost was reasonable and the service was fast. I will definitely be back.

a year agoI've eaten from here twice. Their food is really good. They give you a good portion. The server was very nice and friendly. Parking can be a challenge due to construction. There's limited seating, but it was clean on both visits. It's definitely a fav spot in the area. I will visit again when in the area.

3 years agoI loved it, it's very difficult to find a good mondongo in the city, this was wonderful.
