This joint has been my go to breakfast fix for 15+ years when I’m in the area. Simple dining set-up, quick friendly service and big smothered breakfast burritos full of tasty eggs, fresh potatoes and whatever meat you desire. Good tasty green chile with just the right amount of heat to keep you going all day They do handheld burritos as well but my choice is
I love this place been going for years? When I walk in they already know my order.
Awesome breakfast burritos. Just stop by and get one you deserve it!
This little gem is known for its breakfast burritos. They're only open till about 2pm. I've been going in for their breakfast burritos for 20-plus years. I get the sausage with cheese and a half-and-half green chili mix. Pay attention to how you unwrap it if you get the handheld. The smaller end that folds up to open is the top. Don't worry if they're busy you can't hardly walk away from the desk before they have it ready.
Ordered the Mexican Skillet. It was very good. I asked for the hot green chile. Not super hot, but it was very tasty and they loaded up the skillet with a lot of it. Eggs were cooked perfectly which I appreciate - over easy, not overcooked or broken and the whites weren't runny. I went mid morning on MLK day and there was a continuous stream of people coming in and ordering while I ate so they must be doing something right. Service was good but note...there's no table service. Order your food then take it and sit and eat which doesn't bother me. The prices were very reasonable. $10 for a skillet with very good green chile. You can't walk out of a crummy fast food joint nowadays for 10 bucks. Would recommend to anyone who likes chile as much as I do.
We were really craving breakfast burritos and wanted to try somewhere other than our usual place. We ordered 2 smothered breakfast burritos, I got bacon. I usually have the opposite problem and ask “where’s the bacon?” But in this instance, it became, “where’s the egg??” The burrito was almost entirely crunchy chopped bacon and salsa, it was delicious. There was legitimately one bite of egg and four pieces of potato, and while I would have like more balance, this wasn’t the worst outcome. We will be trying this place again and hopefully get a slightly different result. Flavor overall was GREAT, and the fact that the bacon was crunchy was GREAT. I will ask for half as much cheese last time because there was a lot. Overall 4/5
Not the best burrito I've had. The "steak" burrito was more like ground beef. That combined with the boiled/steamed cubed potatoes that use made it taste like I was eating a beef stew burrito. Also, I ordered the spicy chili and no spice was detected. The non-melted cheese on the burritos is an interesting way to serve a burrito. Service... There really was none. The guy at the register barely communicated with me but managed to get my order right. With so many other options in the area, I probably won't be back.
Breakfast Burritos are delicious. That's really only reason I go there for. Never had anything else besides the Burros. Sausage with cheese, spicy you won't regret it. They use to be affiliated with Burrito Company that was located off 54th and Washington. If you had those burritos these are almost like those.
