I’m writing this review as I currently sit in the establishment. I came in because of their free hookah promotion and the manager outside, a Hispanic lady, maybe Dominican, with curly hair greeted us and answered all of our (my sister and I) question and had a great presence, cool, calm and collected. When I went upstairs there wasn’t anyone there which we expected because it was around 11pm. I had a drink server and a hookah server, my drink server was Sharon and she was very nice and came to our table whenever we needed to be serviced or had any questions about drinks. On the other had our hookah server wasn’t as great. AJ (our server) about 5’4” slightly stocky with a short cut, seemingly forgot about us once other people were inside. I asked about receiving new coal and he said that wasn’t something they provided, only refills of the hookah itself. Understandable, but what was confusing was my having to attend to my own coal. The manager watched as I used the plastic hookah tool to tend to both mine and my sisters coal and no one came to assist. I watched AJ attend to the coal of the people right next to me and he still never came. I waited for him to come back to my sister and I, or even acknowledge our presence but that didn’t happen. I’m not sure how the service looks on other nights but I wasn’t very happy. He never checked in to make sure we were okay and we’ve been here for almost three hours. After asking about the coal I really thought he would come and help us out but instead we had a bunch of ashes in out tinfoil. I’m dissatisfied with the service. The manager seems nice and Sharon was too. It was just the lack of hospitality that has me really surprised. This was our very first time time at the place and I don’t think we’re coming back. I’m sorry for not tipping AJ but we really weren’t happy and we try to tip always. Oh and the place really picked up around 12am, it was a nice atmosphere and the music/DJ is great.
The place is a cool concept, but I’d rather go somewhere else so I can leave with my ear drums. Music is absurdly loud, especially since it’s not crazy crowded. So It just echos. I could barely even communicate w anyone. Would be better if the dj knew a balance.
