See All ReviewsWe stopped by this little place today on our way home from Laurel. We tried a Cajun place in Laurel that was VERY disappointing. However, Cajun Village Bar and Grill in Bay Springs did NOT disappoint! Our waitress was phenomenal from start to finish. The menu was a mixture of seafood and bbq. She made many suggestions and told us what customers seemed to like most. The food came out quickly and was fresh and hot. We got a catfish po boy with coleslaw. The po boy was served on French bread and toasted perfectly. The coleslaw was homemade as well. My husband got a ceasar salad and a fried catfish dish that was smothered in crawfish etouffe on top of rice. It also came with 6 or 7 fried jumbo shrimp. The catfish on both the po boy and the etouffe dish came as large filets. The waitress told us the etouffe was made from scratch. It was delicious! She told us they just started serving crawfish on the weekends. We might have to make another trip from Brandon to eat there before crawfish season ends!
Tried to call in, and instead of answering they left the phone off the hook and ignored me even after 3 minutes of trying to get their attention. I could hear them having a conversation on the other end, "my favorite youtuber just released a new video." Update: managed to get food and everything was dry or overcooked. The ribs had no rub or real flavor, the fish was soggy. The fries were tough and leathery.
Everything I’ve tried from the menu is delicious! The pasta is a favorite. Great daily lunch specials. Don’t pass on the dessert specials… the bread pudding & mini king cakes were so good!
