See All ReviewsI was in the mood for Chinese food and decided to try somewhere new. I placed a to-go order, but the price was way higher than I expected. When I arrived, the restaurant looked really run-down, the fence was leaning over, and the inside wasn’t clean or inviting at all. There was a noticeable stench, and it was clear the place hadn’t been updated in years. I could see parts of the kitchen from where I was standing, and honestly, it didn’t look too clean either. When you don't keep up and maintain the business that pays you says a lot about the ownership. Despite all that, I stayed optimistic. Sometimes the least appealing spots make great food. Not this time. The shrimp fried rice was so light it was basically white rice, with barely any shrimp at all (the smallest I’ve ever seen), and they weren’t even deveined, so I didn’t eat it. The shrimp egg foo young was a letdown too, I couldn’t find any shrimp in it, and the gravy smelled awful. I wasn’t eating that either. Finally, the sweet and sour chicken was a disappointment: the sauce was super thin, so I passed on that as well. All in all, it was the biggest waste of money. I should have known when I saw there were no cars in the parking lot. Lesson learned: I’ll stick to the places I know are good. I hate wasting my money.
Sauce was all over bag, and food leaving a big mess everywhere. food was good, a little cold especially after having to wait from cleaning up the sauce mess. Take out Aug. 27th 530pm. Update to response: I am very positive I did place a take out order on that day around that time. The car drive was not more then five minutes with a responsible adult holding order in their lap. I'm not sure why the sauce was all over, possibly the lids were not possibly placed (?).
Very good food. The place is small and looks like it needs some renovation and sprucing up. (Maybe they lease the building) they had about 5 tables, there may be more in a different room. I found the portion sizes to be slightly on the small side, the rice was sticky - that could be a preference for them. Mongolian beef, curry beef and chix almond ding. The curry beef my son ordered was very mild he asked for hot, however the curry was very bold in flavor. The almond ding had its own unique but good flavor according to my wife. I enjoyed my Mongolian beef very much, even the 2 chewy chunks I came across. I'm from out of town but would try it again if the mood was right. Small place, needs a little life brought into it to be GREAT! Our hostess was very pleasant.
