I found this place from a Toledo Black Owned Businesses list and I love trying new types of food so I had no expectations. I think I missed the front while driving by and as I drove around the place looked shuttered and abandoned. But I persisted bc I was hungry and saw someone walking around the back so I took a chance on a door. Here's where my only real issue with the place came in: the online menu is not accurate. No worries with covid and all so I ordered some jerk chicken, greens, and red beans/rice. The food was excellent! I'm definitely eyeing some of their other dishes for next time. I dunno what an oxtail is but I wanna try it. If you're like me and from out of town (and super white haha) you might feel kind of awkward as this place seems like a very local spot but the food is good l.
The new manager is on point. The prices are worth the quality, the ladies are welcoming. I feel at home whenever I stop in.
I have a friend from work who knows her way around the Jamaican menu. I don't. So we met here for drinks and dinner and she ordered for me. Thank God she chose well for me, a beef stew type of dinner. I loved the spicing. It was great. Good crowd, great service.
