See All ReviewsThis place is amazing! We stopped here as we were traveling through and we were not disappointed. Small but incredibly tasty. The Birria tacos were very flavorful and the charro beans were the best that I remember having! Give it a shot if you are ever in the area!
I absolutely love this Mexican restaurant. The food is always delicious and I never get tired of it. Every visit feels welcoming, and the staff is consistently kind, friendly, and genuinely inviting. You’re always greeted with a smile, and it makes the whole experience even better. There is one gentleman there in particular who truly stands out. I don’t know his name yet, but he is my favorite. He is incredibly attentive and kind every single time I’ve seen him. He has helped us both at the tables and at the window, and he always takes such good care of everyone. Honestly, he is one of the best parts of the experience, even though everyone there does a great job. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do. You are wonderful. Keep up the great work.
The first thing that told me that we were in for a rough ride was the negative actions of an employee. When we entered, and were walking to a booth, the employee looked at us, then his watch, and shook his head no, then glared at me as if we had broken in. After we were seated and given our silverware in an envelope-type container and given a menu the waiter left. We sat waiting to place our orders and the server who gave us the menus would walk by us as if the three of us didn't exist. Eventually, he returned to our table and took our orders. In the meantime, two other guests/customers came in and sat at the booth next to ours. The server who sat us was right with them and took their drink orders. When he delivered the drinks, he took their orders. A few minutes later, their meals were served. Then the server served other meals to customers in a separate dining area. We were just patiently waiting. Everything he walked near our table he would not make eye contact. Eventually, another employee brought our meals. I had the Carne Guisada and there wasn't much of it. The refried beans were only about one serving spoonful. The rice had very little taste and the beans, were only tepid. Borderline cold. The meat and gravy looked as if they had come from a microwaved pouch. And, it too was not very hot at all. For what the meals cost, they should have had more flavor and been served hot. Not to mention the employees' lack of service or concern for the quality of our meals. Telling you that I would never go back may not be true. However, San Saba has other dining places I'll dine at before returning.
