Castaways has great food and continues to work on the ambiance of this little restaurant located in the heart of Mexico Beach. The owners are friendly and hands-on. The food is excellent - we had a group of 13 on Thursday night and everyone was very happy with the food. We've watched as they've renovated what was once a dumpy bar, repainted, updated the menu, added a great Saturday morning breakfast buffet (don't miss the best-tasting biscuits and gravy you will find anywhere), obtained their liquor license, and this summer, upped their game with additional updates to the interior. I hope they will continue this hard (and expensive) work, perhaps by adding music, and other cosmetic updates. The food is so reliably good, i can't wait to see this restaurant continue to grow!
This place is awesome. First visited over spring break on a whim and it was fantastic, had to come back again during our recent visit to Mexico Beach. I had the chicken Romano and husband had shrimp and grits. So good! It's wasn't busy and the waitress was super nice.
We look forward to coming back here every year! The food is great, staff is amazing, the wait can be long but once you've had the food you'll completely understand the wait. They have all kinds of games to play while waiting/eating including live bands, karaoke night. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners while we were there and absolutely love her! Totally down to earth and fun! ( You guys need to bring back the delicious dip!🤤)
