The owner quit. Was going to order some chicken today. Bummer. We sure will miss having your broasted chicken dinners. I had your butterfly/jumbo shrimp once. It was good. Anyways, best of blessings
I called just before 1pm, peak lunchtime hours (so other orders had to come in), to pick up just a chicken breast for a small lunch, and his exact words were "you're asking me to run a 15 thousand dollar machine for one chicken breast?" Why yes. I absolutely expected if I ordered a chicken breast that is a menu item, I'd be able to get it. Maybe if he wasn't such a jerk and a few other choice words, he'd have enough orders to accommodate his residential neighbors just wanting a small lunch that wasn't from a corporate chain. Would not ever recommend and I won't be returning strictly on the fact that he is a rude and mean individual. He has always been unpleasant, but this was beyond unprofessional.
A friend suggested I try this chicken so I figured I’d stop in for lunch and try it out. I tried to make casual conversation with an older guy, who I presume was the owner. I told him this was my first time there, thinking he would make suggestions or be welcoming. Instead he said he’s been in that location for x years and do I expect him to roll out the red carpet. Wow, totally not what I expected. I said no, I thought you might provide some insight and he pointed to the menu. OK, so maybe he’s having a bad day. I asked if he tried Chicken Shack and he replied no. I said that’s understandable since you make chicken. I explained that my experience with Chicken Shack was that they prepare their chicken too dry and he nodded. I told him my name and asked him his and he said what, you gonna need my social security number next, I’m the chicken man. Perhaps he has a weird sense of humor. I made my selection, placed my order and he pointed out he only accepted cash. I missed the signs and didn’t have enough cash so I said I gotta hit the ATM. As I was leaving he said there are signs all over stating he only accepted cash and I should go to Chicken Shack. Unbelievable. Clearly he didn’t want my business.
