5 months agoChicos Tacos on Montwood across from the Roll-in Flautas has a classic feel to it when you walk to order your lunch or dinner which ever it is you're there for. You can sit and eat as a family or take your date to. The staff and personnel are polite and courteous. It just brings back nostalgic memories of better times.

5 months agoA classic in El Pasos and must have, IYKYK. The locals will whine about the cheese and the taste. It is what is get you a double, fries, extra cheese, extra salsa verde and a Dr. Pepper. Enjoy it period!!!!!!!!!! Visitors it will be a hit or miss for yall, try to embrace the local taste. They only accept cash, they also have an atm for your convenience. Service has bever been an issue, happy customer all the way. Your food will always come out hot and tasty. Enjoy at your own risk.

6 months agoI would probably give a 3.5 overall, but I want to be slightly supportive, so it's getting a 4. Here's the deal...there are places like this, in nature, everywhere. A local joint that does something unique and because it's not everywhere else being done that way, it develops a following. Chico's "tacos" are basically taquitos doused in a watery salsa and covered in grated cheese. It's ok. It's not spectacular, it's not bad. For those of you who live near a Taco Casa or a Taco Delite, you understand. Are they the greatest? No. Do you find yourself inexplicably craving it from time to time? Yes. You're either going to like it or hate it. It is possible to be fine with it. But chances are if you don't hate it, you'll be back. Get it with the fries and when you eat your tacos, bury the fries in the salsa and cheese and enjoy. Service was fine. For people passing through, El Paso seems to have a culture of doing your job but not being effervescent or affluential about it. Because people don't read signs, ever, including myself apparently, they will only slightly roll their eyes when you pull out your credit card in their cash only environment. They will then point you to the ATM 10 feet away ($3.50 service fee). This was a must do on our trip to El Paso and I'm glad we did. It was fun and got crowded during lunch. For the record, the 3 piece and fries was plenty of food, in case you're uncertain of your initial order. If you're starving, 6 piece is the go.
