See All ReviewsA mixed experience. Everything was well prepared. The rice was fragrant with cardamom. The butter chicken sauce is fantastic--well balanced with a full spectrum of South East Asian spices. It's not the overly sweet tomato and curry cream butter chicken that everyone else serves. Instead, you get a complex layering of richness and depth of flavor. The problem is that the chicken is just tandoori spiced boneless chicken thighs (the kind Halal carts serve, bright red on the outside) sliced up and tossed in the sauce. On the one hand, the tandoori seasoning adds something to the overall experience. On the other, it feels out of place and muddles the palette. The truth is, I wanted tender fall-apart chicken that was braised in the sauce. I wanted chunks to tear with my plastic fork. You know, the kind of meat that's soft to the touch, but dry in the mouth--the kind you slather in sauce to keep it moist against your rogue. Ultimately, the whole experience was a little disappointing. But still, the gravy was exceptional and I'm open to trying this truck another time.
I have been twice and gotten the falafel sandwich and the lentil soup. Best soup I’ve ever had and really amazing falafels. Super good prices for broke college students. I could go there every day!
