I went there before to buy Gilo chatpate, and the quantity was fair for the price. That was my first time, so I was happy. But today was my second visit, and they gave me this much even after I ordered two of the same items. The quantity was very disappointing and the taste was not good either. Really bad experience. I don’t think I will go there anymore.
The prices here dont really add up anymore. This place used to be affordable but now for a food truck they are charging almost like a regular restaurant. The difference is in a restaurant you usually get a proper dining experience and service, but here you still have to walk up to the truck, order and pick up your own food. For that kind of setup the prices feel a little too much.The food itself was kind of a mixed experience. The momos were disappointing because there was very little filling inside, it felt like mostly just the wrapper. The keema noodles were okay but the noodles felt more like udon noodles, very thick and a bit too chewy for this dish. One thing I did like though was the alu nimki, that was probably the best thing we tried. Overall it just feels like the prices have gone up but the experience and food dont really match that.
CHOWK is hands down one of the best places to experience authentic Nepali street food. From the moment we walked in, the host welcomed us with such warmth and genuine hospitality that it immediately felt like visiting a place back home in Nepal. The host was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. The food was absolutely amazing. The momo were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly steamed—just like the street stalls in Kathmandu. The syabhale was crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling that tasted incredibly authentic. And the sausaugae was delicious and comforting, packed with bold Nepali spices that really brought the whole experience together. What truly made the visit special was the excellent customer service. The host and staff were welcoming, knowledgeable about the dishes, and took the time to make sure everything was perfect. If you want to experience real Nepali street food with amazing hospitality, CHOWK is the place to go. Highly recommended—can’t wait to come back again! 🇳🇵🥟✨
