6 months agoFamily owned restaurant that caters to locals. They do get a lot of customers that aren't locals as it is right off the interstate. Breakfast all day everyday. They have a big menu with sandwiches and full plates. Senior plates and kids plates available. Burgers are great here. Menu is regular food nothing fancy but well prepared and unless really crowded fairly quick. Management keeps enough help so folks aren't waiting too long. I've never got a cold plate here and prices are very reasonable. Wish they run a blue plate special with items that aren't on the menu. Love Clarence's diner and eat here frequently

a year agoClarence’s Drive-In is a great little place to check out when you’re in or around Erwin, TN. The service and food were great. The decor is old school. Music was loud rock music, which seemed out of place to me; Should be oldies. Overall, I’d recommend it.

2 years agoBreakfast is as good as it gets at Clarence's. Service is very good. The dining room is acceptably clean. I've only had lunch here once. I DO NOT recommend the country fried steak (which came with brown gravy?) or the fried green tomatoes . Neither one was any good.

3 years agoA great little Diner we ran up on in Erwin, TN. The food was cooked perfectly and the service was awesome. This place was an old fast food place turned into Clarence's Diner. Had the Cheeseburger with fries, Barky had the Reuben and our guest had a BLT. They were all great. The onion rings looked perfect and were said to be delicious.

5 years agoAnother great mom and pop place!! Love the small town feel. Every dish we had was good. The pancakes smelled Soo good! The meatloaf taste like Mom's, real mashed potatoes. I had the country ham dinner and it was delish too. My favorite was the bread!! I don't know what kind of bread but it was so good!

Edited a year agoClarence's Restaurant is a real gem in Erwin! The food was absolutely fantastic – every dish we tried was clearly made with care and bursting with flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the staff; they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Honestly, the only tiny hiccup in an otherwise perfect meal was the ketchup. While perfectly acceptable, this place deserves the best, and for me, that means Heinz. It's a small detail, but upgrading to the classic would take Clarence's from nearly perfect to absolutely flawless. Despite this minor preference, I wholeheartedly recommend Clarence's. You're guaranteed a delicious meal and a warm welcome. It's easily a 4 and a half star experience!

Edited 7 years agoVery large supper portions, the country fried steak was so darn good. Hubby had the hamburger steak with gravy over the French fries too! The collard greens were amazing. We come every year and they never disappoint. The breakfast with homemade donuts will knock your socks off. The biscuits and gravy with home fries is my fav! The new location is so easy to find. Good country southern food with the best service.
