I have been going to this restaurant for 16yrs one of the best BBQ in Springfield il. The people that work there is very nice and make you feel like you part of the family.
You know when you see these travel videos visiting these hidden gems of local food? This is one of them that you can experience for yourself. Our waitress explained everything is homemade. We got the catfish and she said they made the breading, “Not out of a box.” She was a hoot! She was sassy in that friendly way, making us feel at home. She even said she didn’t cook and that’s why they kept her at the front of the house. The catfish was delicious and flavorful. The service was great - friendly and informative. And the atmosphere is…well…it’s hard to put it. I felt like I stepped back in time. Everything was nice quality, but had some years on it. Just felt real and honest. All around, a great experience.
I got the lunch special, I’m not crazy about rib tips myself but they were great. What I really enjoyed was the pulled pork, it was sooooooo good. I did the medium level sauce and it had a nice amount of zest, I will likely do hot next time. For sure will be getting some more of that pulled pork!
