See All ReviewsCountry Barrel is a mom and pop place to eat located in Okeana Ohio, Cincinnati Brookville road. Down to earth home cooking with a variety of food. Me and my daughter and kids did breakfast, The Big Barrel Breakfast, 13.99ea. That had a good selection of breakfast foods. Friendly cook and staff. I will repeat. Hours.......... Wednesday 6 AM–2 PM Thursday 6 AM–2 PM Friday 6 AM–8 PM Saturday 6 AM–2 PM Sunday 6 AM–2 PM Monday Closed Tuesday 6 AM–2 PM
This one was a bit disappointing. I walked in and noticed about half the tables were full, so hoping it wouldn't be too long off a wait. I asked if I could place an order to go. The lady working told me they don't do to go orders on Sunday. I noticed a two foot tall stack of Styrofoam to go boxes behind her, so I asked if I could just have a seat and order some food and and then ask for a to go box. She looked puzzled like I just broke the matrix and told me no. The angry grill cook looks back and shouts "IT'LL BE AT LEAST 40 MINUTES". I say that's fine. She looks back at him, then back at me and said "Sorry, can't do it". So I wasn't allowed to try their food and the service was awful. I sure as heck won't be headed back there ever again. Edit question for angry cook: If I sat down, which I was told no, would I be allowed to ask for a to go box on a Sunday to take my leftover food? If no, that's just a horrible policy. If yes, I should have been allowed to sit down and wait for my food like everyone else. I was told no, even after asking to sit in.
Waitresses were fast but attentive, food was excellent home cooked style with plenty to choose on their menu, small town out of the way but worth it
