See All ReviewsThe service today was extremely disappointing and terrible. We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for over 10 years, but after today’s experience, we will not be returning. In the past, the service was generally good, which is why today’s experience was so surprising. We had to ask three times just to get the servers’ attention and were largely ignored, even though the restaurant was not busy (we were there for an early lunch). At one point, we were told we could not take our leftovers without any explanation even though we had not indicated that we planned to take anything to go. The comment was completely unprompted and bizarre. To make matters worse, our bill was brought to us without us requesting it, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. We raised the issue with the cashier, and the owner was present and witnessed the situation, but chose not to address it and instead walked away. The cashier did apologize, but given the owner’s response, it seems unlikely that anything will be done to address the issue. This type of service is unacceptable in the U.S. or in South Korea or anywhere. It is especially disappointing after supporting this restaurant for more than a decade. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced us not to return.
I have been here many times and will continue to come back! The meat quality is very good and I love that the staff grill if for you. The side dishes might even be better than the meat. There are tons of side dishes that come out - salads, steamed egg, soybean soup, kimchi, etc. Every single one delicious! The service is really nice and quick to get the meat grilling and they come by and refill the side dishes right away when we ask. I love coming here for KBBQ!
I went here with my boyfriend and felt a bit out of place. However, I wouldn't suggest going here due to their tipping requirements. The woman followed me out of the restaurant for a tip - mind you, I had already paid $ 88. The miscommunication was very bad. I had tried to tell her I wanted to pay $ 34 for one pork belly, but she said it came with two, and I ended up with almost two servings of pork belly. Keep in mind I kept asking if the price range would stay the same and she said yes 2 pork belly bbq. At the end the price wasn't bad, it was the anxiety I felt when she followed me out after I paid. She made me feel like I didn't pay, and it was very nerve-wracking. I don't recommend them because of how needy they are with tips! The food is good but avoid it if you don't want to be chased out! 😞
