a month agoThis place was crazy busy but I know why the food here is amazing. We both got the BBQ topped baked potato and it was delicious as usual. Service was good even with it being as busy as it was. The waitress was pleasant and even though she was so busy she didn’t seem stressed. Always smiling.

3 months agoDid my research to find a good BBQ place. Settled on this place. I have to say there are some items that are good (sausage, brisket sandwich, spud) but where this place loses my vote is in the sides and price. I asked for an order of molleja tacos on flour tortillas . 3 came in the order. Received and they were corn. Waitress was helpful in attempting to correct the order. But! She came back and said there was an additional cost of $6.99 per taco. Where is the logic in that. Either their tortillas are made of gold or their cooks or tortilla lady earns a very high wage! Of course not!!! The other complaint was in the quality of their sides. Mac and cheese lacks flavor and tastes like boiled pasta. Would not return. Bathrooms are extremely awkward

4 months agoGot the 2 meat plate $14.99 (tea not included)Angus beef brisket and sausage with 2 sides so I got 2 beans a la charra(charro beans) brisket was soft but not juicy too lean i prefer the fat side(i wish It had been suggested to me) Sausage was good and the beans were good as well mac and cheese and rice good too price was fair I wouldn't say it was memorable as in really good but all in all everything was fair I liked the fact that just because its bar b q it wasn't overpriced as many are doing today, bbq in the valley has become very popular, I went to small business bbq place in brownsville grand opening and the brisket had 0 mesquite flavor in fact my suspicion was oven cooked😒🤔

a year agoThe food was so good!! We got a few different dishes. The mollejas were fire! Loved them. The two meat with brisket and sausage was very good. The sides we got were potato salad and macaroni. We got the burrito which was super huge so beware. It did have too much cheese. The saucy kind so of I had known it was that kind of cheese I would have asked not to have it. The dessert was banana pudding and it was the best!! The lemonade was not that great. The staff was ok. Nothing remarkable. The place is small and mostly high top tables. There is a-lot of fans so that bothered me as far as the temperature and drying out my contacts. But Im super picky. It’s pretty loud in there if you’re ok with that. The food did come out fast which was nice. And lastly the women’s restroom was odd. There are no doors for the two stalls. Instead there’s curtains to close like dressing rooms. Not very private.

a year agoVery good food. The pork ribs as well as the English cut ribs are incredible. Very large portions of food, great service, happy folks, and a cool place. If you are in the area, give it a try. You may need a power nap after your meal if you go with the 3 meat. It is awesome.

2 years agoI can’t believe this place has been here about 7 years and we just heard about it 2 days ago. The food is delicious , fresh and moist and tender brisket . The portions are great for the price, which the price is also great. They have brisket bombers and mollejas too ! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant, and my husband loved the fact that it was not hot at all , the AC was perfect especially in this heat . Definitely going back again as my to go place for bbq. I recommend this place.

Edited 2 years agoOne year update!!!! We've been coming here often, and how can you not!!! Service is great, the food is delicious...and lets not forget the drinks are always cold! The first time I reviewed this place we didn't really eat, so I feel like my review was not fair enough. However, we have now tried just about everything on the menu, and I must say, this place doesn't get enough praise!!!! The food is amazing!!!! The brisket has such a good smokey flavor, the turkey legs are so good, the ribs are great!! The fajita never disappoints and their burgers are very tasty. Their banana pudding is so good, well if you get there early enough and they still have some because they fly off the shelf!!! ************************ Looking for a lowkey, super chill place to have a cold drink and a bite? Check out Dave's! We love hanging out at Dave's it's a small bbq place family friendly. They have the coldest beers on tap 🍻 The staff is very friendly and the manager Joel is super cool and attentive!

Edited a year agoStopped in for lunch with some out of town friends. They were packed to the gills but still managed to provide great friendly service. We had a brisket plate, carne guisada plate, brisket sandwich plate and some drinks. Never a disappointment when we come to Dave's. I didn't take any pictures as they are the same as the other ones. Food was hot fresh and delicious, definitely be back
