See All ReviewsDecatur Diner is hands down one of our must-stop breakfast spots anytime we’re in Ocean City. The portions are huge, the food is packed with flavor, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The omelettes are stuffed full and loaded with gooey cheese, but the country fried steak is what truly keeps us coming back. They hand bread and tenderize the steak in house and make it fresh to order — and you can absolutely taste the difference. This is NOT frozen cubed steak like so many places serve. The steak is tender, juicy, flavorful, and covered in a rich creamy gravy that takes it over the top. The home fries were also fantastic. You can tell they cut the potatoes in house because every piece is unique and rustic. They’re perfectly seasoned with onions mixed throughout and cooked exactly how a breakfast potato should be — slightly crispy on the outside while still buttery soft and pillowy inside. The service is always phenomenal too. Everyone is incredibly sweet, attentive, and constantly checking on refills without ever being overbearing. The retro diner atmosphere is another thing we love — classic booths, tables, and a cozy counter area that really gives it that old school diner charm. If you want a true diner breakfast experience in Ocean City, Decatur Diner absolutely delivers every time.
I got the cheessteak sub and it was decent, nothing to go crazy about, but great steak meat helped it out. The fries are pretty good, like a 1/2 step down from fresh cut but good potato bite. I make home-made biscuits and sausage gravy and I love to try it at any restaurant that makes it in-house. I absolutely loved their biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuit is this wonderful crispy outside and pieces and the inside is light but dense, i have no idea how to describe it :) but the biscuits are worth buying by themselves. The sausage used in the gravy tastes like it was seared on the flat top to get a little char on it. It was amazing. They make a scrapple gravy too, never knew that exisited, so that will be my next order when I go back. Great atmosphere. Really nice, polite staff. Made us feel welcome like we had been going there for years. It was my 1st visit but im definitely going to become a regular.
I should had known there’s no 16 dollar surf and turf omelette the steak taste like it’s been sitting in water and the crabmeat is red swimming crabs which has a very fishy taste the bread was good and so were the home fries I can’t say the omelette is a miss cause it’s a don’t do and the inside was just wrapped up in the egg no seasonings no nothing and no cheese like it’s a watery tasteless omelette I’m so confused
